Twenty-nine-year old Kurose Kazumi is a programmer in an eroge company and has played plenty of galges when he was younger, but he's completely uninterested in young girls. A chance encounter changes that when a confused middle schooler approaches him due to a misunderstanding, but he realizes how sweet she is and wants to keep meeting her.

This ACTUALLY is a pure manga. The author went through several measures to make that clear. I wrote a review about it going over how that works. That said, it's SO pure that quite often the main character can be ludicrously naive. Ludicrous is the right word; he makes several decisions that defy common sense. As a cute series, this is definitely diabetes-inducing, but a few hangups keep me from highly recommending it.
They'll try anything to make a new kind of story. Here we have a guy around 30 with...what would you call it...I guess a "crush" on a middle school girl. And note, NO SEX. It's rather cute, sweet, and touching. The only real problem is that the guy is purposely made pretty unattractive—always wearing that bulky coat and all. I guess that was done so dorky Japanese guys could identify. That aside, it's a pretty good story, though it gets pretty unbelievable toward the end.
Cute but very creepy
Look I think this is a pretty touching manga and all but there are just some moments that are just too weird. It goes well beyond the limit when the main character is literally sneaking into the school of the teenager he's romantically interested in. I guess it wouldn't be so weird if he at least, you know, tried to date a woman his age. This just sometimes comes across as stalking more than romance. Heck in the story whenever someone finds out they react appropriately (shock and disgust) which should pretty much tell you something. I know that the manga artist is trying his hardest to make this story not creepy, I get that. They imply very heavily that they won't do anything sexual until she is well into maturity. In the end though it just never set right with me and near the end I was clicking through pages just to get it over with.

My opinion :)
I was really afraid to read this manga...
Because I HATE loli/pedo porn plot circumstances!
1. Fictional manga reality... check. 2. Legality of age (in Japan) check... (thus She has 12 when they first met!) 3. Sex... NO (Great!) check... 4. Age gap... 30 to 13 (29 to 12)... 17 years older... That and age of Heroine is the mostly controversial part, but see point 1 and 2! It is legal in Japan, in some circumstances...
If not those above I will never read this manga. But I am glad I did it
If She was 3 years older (16), it will be just another plain manga with younger Heroine falling in friendship/love/sex in older guy, which nobody cares about it, until some ecchi, porn stuff.
Those controversial parts make this special.
If this contain sex, it will be awful, like under aged porn with plot... (Bleee).
But He loves Her like an uncle, step father, and waited for Her to be grown up! In final chapters I almost felt sorry for Him, when He try to confess, thinking that He WILL be rejected. It was pure, not stained with adults point of "sex" view love.
Age gap is not so important, when it does not affect minors, but since in Japan this age is legal...
Well, whatever. They where pure enough to do not harm each other, and He respectfully wait for Her to be grown enough mentally, and physically. Still creepy, but yet awesome and the comedy parts make it even warmer

Well if you manage to get past the initial idea and read this you are in for a very enjoyable ride. It's cute, pure, hilarious and touching. If you can relate to the main character, that is.
A somewhat realistic perspective will be that this story is just an otaku's ideal dream for an angel. The ending was a bit disappointing though and didn't go very far in what happened later. Still I would recommend this; I myself put this manga off many times before, but it turned out to be a good short read.

I really like this!!!!
Not many author can make a seemingly lollicon theme for a manga to be sweet and not disturbing.. Kazumi's love for the middleschooler is pure and true.. I really like their relationship and I don't care about their age gap... I admire the middleschooler for accepting Kazumi despite his rugged looks and otaku-ish personality and she is willing to go out with Kasumi when she's a bit older. I salute Kasumi for being patient for the girl and is willing to wait for her no matter how long he waits..
It's not weird at all to fall in love with someone whose waaaaaay younger than you. As long as their feelings are genuine and true and they truly care for each other.. I really like this heart warming and funny story.. A must read!!!!
lol way to try to make a positive pedophile story
well i read this and the it was pretty funny at times but couldnt really get around the premise much its just really weird to try to make a love story out of a pedophile and a 13 year old lol im not trying to say this to insult this manga but lets not try to sugarcoat what this is but it was still a funny manga

First of all, let me say that the guy is NOT a pedophile...
1. He is attracted to the girl's cuteness, not her young age. At some point he imagines her as she is in the future (with her dream of being a school teacher fulfilled) and is still just as attracted to her future self (if not more). And at first he actually thought that she is a bit older than her age. 2. He is not interested in any other young girl besides the female protagonist. He visits her school and doesn't ogle anyone. He is not "into kids". 3. He doesn't think of having sex with her, molesting her. He respects her, her age and innocence. Actually, he usually is afraid to touch her at all. Pedophiles, on the other hand, have strong sexual urges towards children; strong enough they often can't control themselves, even knowing the terrible consequences of getting caught. 4. The guy totally likes big boobs, lol. He is attracted to the prez too.
Okay, his attraction for the girl may still bother you, but saying that the guy is a creep who should be in jail is ridiculous.
Anyway, I really like this manga because it's very unique (can't think of any other story like this), fresh, funny. And I adore the male protagonist, he is such a nice guy. Kind and just adorable. I personally prefer him with the boss-- not because his affection for the young girl bothers me, but because I am not fond of her as a character. She is cute but not much besides, while the boss is such a cool strong woman XD I really like her character, also her behavior when she realizes that Kurose is dating a middle school girl. I think the adults in this manga are super decent and the story addresses some stereotypes/false accusations/idiocy, like that "people who enjoy loli games/manga are pervs, as are those who make them". Here we have people who make hentai games (and some of their characters represent young girls), and wow, they not only don't rape anyone, they don't even want to rape anyone XD As a yaoi fangirl who likes some shouta manga but have no interest in kids in rl (actually, I dislike them and prefer they stay as far away as possible, lol), I really appreciate this aspect of the story. I hope more people would able to separate fiction (that often have little to do with how things really look in rl ie. super cute innocent moe shota boys vs. rl brats haha) from reality, and not judge others by their own standards.
And just for the record, since many people make this mistake... While the age of consent in Japan is 13, in reality it's 18 in most parts of Japan (because they have jurisdiction to set their own laws on this), so no, it's not legal for the pair from Miman Renai to be together, in sexual sense. But, the cool thing is, the guy doesn't seem to plan on using the girl like this, just being with her is enough for him. If he is willing to wait with any sexual activity until she is older, I don't see their relationship as creepy at all, be it in Japan or anywhere.

Ignoring the occasional "creep" vibes, I laughed so hard with the often hilarious plot development, and the manga can be very cute at times. Think "Usagi Drop", but much less serious, and with romantic development. It's pretty good if you can tolerate the setting.
The story is very cute, pure (except for the work concept), and it made me laugh a lot - from the beginning to the very END. I also liked the light writing style that didn't get me tired after couple of chapters.
