First of all, let me say that the guy is NOT a pedophile...

1. He is attracted to the girl's cuteness, not her young age. At some point he imagines her as she is in the future (with her dream of being a school teacher fulfilled) and is still just as attracted to her future self (if not more). And at first he actually thought that she is a bit older than her age.
2. He is not interested in any other young girl besides the female protagonist. He visits her school and doesn't ogle anyone. He is not "into kids".
3. He doesn't think of having sex with her, molesting her. He respects her, her age and innocence. Actually, he usually is afraid to touch her at all. Pedophiles, on the other hand, have strong sexual urges towards children; strong enough they often can't control themselves, even knowing the terrible consequences of getting caught.
4. The guy totally likes big boobs, lol. He is attracted to the prez too.

Okay, his attraction for the girl may still bother you, but saying that the guy is a creep who should be in jail is ridiculous.

Anyway, I really like this manga because it's very unique (can't think of any other story like this), fresh, funny. And I adore the male protagonist, he is such a nice guy. Kind and just adorable. I personally prefer him with the boss-- not because his affection for the young girl bothers me, but because I am not fond of her as a character. She is cute but not much besides, while the boss is such a cool strong woman XD I really like her character, also her behavior when she realizes that Kurose is dating a middle school girl. I think the adults in this manga are super decent and the story addresses some stereotypes/false accusations/idiocy, like that "people who enjoy loli games/manga are pervs, as are those who make them". Here we have people who make hentai games (and some of their characters represent young girls), and wow, they not only don't rape anyone, they don't even want to rape anyone XD As a yaoi fangirl who likes some shouta manga but have no interest in kids in rl (actually, I dislike them and prefer they stay as far away as possible, lol), I really appreciate this aspect of the story. I hope more people would able to separate fiction (that often have little to do with how things really look in rl ie. super cute innocent moe shota boys vs. rl brats haha) from reality, and not judge others by their own standards.

And just for the record, since many people make this mistake... While the age of consent in Japan is 13, in reality it's 18 in most parts of Japan (because they have jurisdiction to set their own laws on this), so no, it's not legal for the pair from Miman Renai to be together, in sexual sense. But, the cool thing is, the guy doesn't seem to plan on using the girl like this, just being with her is enough for him. If he is willing to wait with any sexual activity until she is older, I don't see their relationship as creepy at all, be it in Japan or anywhere.

Thinly veiled endorsement for pedos

There is only one good thing about this manga: the fresh style of how the main male/ men in the manga are drawn. It's cool.

When it comes to drawing anything female, the artist knows one style and it's "lolitacon bait". I'm serious. There's an adult female who enters as a love rival for the fucking 12 year old and she's drawn exactly the same but with huge ass tits and hair extensions.

The manga constantly throws you these ludicrous plots and you're supposed to sympathize with the male because people thought his curly hair was odd in school. Wow, how traumatizing. Really makes complete sense that he's the hero of the story when he actively, creepily pursues the female protagonist - who by the fucking way, looks no older than 8 or 9.

He does become infatuated and obsessed right away. He breaks into her school, goes to her home without permission, shoves another male child who brought up the idea of kissing her (but did nothing). The author really thinks the fans will see the embarrassed and sheepish looks on the 30 year old man's face and go away shucks he don't mean nobody no harm.

The people against the relationship have barely valid points but they're portrayed as irrational obstacles and are never defended against. Is it brought up how gross it is that he's pursuing a child? Nah, the issue is more like "the age Gap is kinda large". Is it brought up that he's a pedophile? Nah, it's more like he works for an erotic game company so he's a kyaa~ pervert.

It's literally propaganda and if you're rolling your eyes after reading this review, congratulations: it got you, idiot.

Funny, but a bit disturbing

I find the manga funny. However, some of it IS disturbing. Even in Japan, a grown man sneaking into a middle school just because he "has to see" a young girl screams pedophilia, even if it's not in a sexual sense. And though the federal age of consent is 13 in Japan, most of the prefectures make their own age of consent, which is 18 in most of them. Cultural differences or not, there's some things that just aren't right. After all, some cultures believe it's perfectly fine to murder other people, but it doesn't mean we have to accept it.

Ignoring the occasional "creep" vibes, I laughed so hard with the often hilarious plot development, and the manga can be very cute at times. Think "Usagi Drop", but much less serious, and with romantic development. It's pretty good if you can tolerate the setting.

The story is very cute, pure (except for the work concept), and it made me laugh a lot - from the beginning to the very END. I also liked the light writing style that didn't get me tired after couple of chapters.

Not many author can make a seemingly lollicon theme for a manga to be sweet and not disturbing..
Kazumi's love for the middleschooler is pure and true..
I really like their relationship and I don't care about their age gap...
I admire the middleschooler for accepting Kazumi despite his rugged looks and otaku-ish personality and she is willing to go out with Kasumi when she's a bit older.
I salute Kasumi for being patient for the girl and is willing to wait for her no matter how long he waits..

It's not weird at all to fall in love with someone whose waaaaaay younger than you.
As long as their feelings are genuine and true and they truly care for each other..
I really like this heart warming and funny story..
A must read!!!!

A neat, heart-warming story...but it's never fleshed out as fully as it could've been, and it's always got a strong sense of sketchiness holding it back. Those of you who say it's only Japanese culture, please stop - the more you know about Japanese culture, the sketchier this gets...let's just keep this story firmly in the realm of imagination...

It'll be exciting to see what the author can come up with next.

okay so the premise is disturbing but i liked it nonetheless the art is light, the main character is a nice guy and it has many cute and funny moments. this series shows how a disturbing topic can be transformed in an interesting romance story.

I agree with everything but i think this manga is kinda cute not just tomoe and her funny expressions but the whole situation with their relationship...yes the main char kurose's mental state and actions are questionable but aside from it being socially abnormal i have to admit it has its funny moments and you cant help but wonder whats gonna happen next... the plot is interesting and flows pretty well and the art is laid out quite nicely .. its an over all nice read if you can get pass the 17 yr old age gap... but in my opinion i think kurose should be behind bars... but thats a story for reality not manga... =P

A little bit creepy. Sometimes I wonder if manga is a projection of an artist's unconscious desires... However, the protagonist is a good guy, albeit a bit naive to think something like this could work. Despite my dislike the storyline content, relatively well put together plot and theme I guess. Whatever floats people's boats.
