Totally Worth the Read!!

This was a thrilling read! It was an interesting topic and totally kept my attention throughout the whole story. I would recommend this to anyone who what a great read in the fantasy genre. It was exciting, and had a romance that didn't overshadow the story but instead worked. The fact that it had it's sexual moments that didn't put me off means that it was that much better then most commonly categorize Harem room and smut genre stories. This story also included the topic of how love can make anything better without the usual corny writings. It was unique and it was also well written so I approve as a reader who is very picky with her manga. I also gave High points for the fact that it was actually a nice lengthy story. The fact that the hero was so in love with the heroine but also possessive made this that much more of a better read for me. Once again, I highly recommend this manga to anyone except younger kids considering that there's a sexual undertone.

Brainless but guilty fun

For me, this is a guilty pleasure at best. It is nowhere near a superior shoujo manga but the pacing and premise just sucks you in. The art is quite decent - cutesy and light - and the characters have nice designs.

There are a lot of bad things in this manga though. Stupid 'character development' coupled with shallow personalities is never a good formula. I never felt attached to any of the main characters. In fact, I was more interested in the parents. For all the decent pacing, the story just built up to a climax that sort of never happens and the ending flew by so fast that I had to read it 3 times just to grasp at what the absolute f**k just happened. It was very much a disappointment.

Also, I have to repeat what everyone else is saying:: Everyone is out to rape the (i-have-nothing-to-go-for-but-an-oh-so-pure-soul kind of) heroine. Jesus Christ, where is the subtlety? Why does everyone fall in love with her? She's attractive yes, but she looks like an elementary schooler and acts like it, maybe even younger!

First 3/4 is absolutely hilarious and heart-taking of being curious what's going to happens to Hiyo next, and when new / handsome characters just kept being introduces into the plot.
But then... it plummets, abruptly, and rapidly.
Over-all, I still enjoyed the humour, and the beautiful drawing style as always *o*

I somehow feel deceived

I wish there was a "light smut" genre. It was pretty pg13. For the major smut lovers out there. It gets you with a sorta good smit scene in the beginning then they don't really show much of it at all for the rest of the manga. That's how they suck you in. At times I started getting annoyed of the story. But then I realized I just really was annoyed of the main character. It's ok to have a naive character but a stupid one is annoying to read. Art was beautiful. Sometimes wish the guys hairs were better drawn out.

again I'm not happy with the fact of having a good smut scene and then getting no build up for more through the rest of the manga. It's deceiving. A girl gets invited to this school and since she is a failure at school she didn't get to go anywhere else that was good. She shortly gets told she is someone's fiancé then soon after "the smut scene" happens.. The rest of the manga consists of them getting into more and more trouble with other monsters because she is too stupid to recognize her feelings and kurou's feelings. Snd the fact that guys could keep doing things to her with no consequence from kurou is bullshit. She's pretty much allowed to lead him on. Hurt his feeling and cheat whenever she fealt like it! (Which turned him into the demon king to begin with). All she had to do was stop slutting herself around. Very simple ending. She just says I love you so much stop! And then it's a happy ending?! Wish there was more to story about the adults/ parents past.

Enjoyable

Plot.
This manga was enjoyable, but right when there should had been a climax, it just kind of went flop. It was building up to this great demon king thing and all of a suddenly it was just resolved just like that. It didn't really felt resolved at all. The comedy is good and the romance is adoring as well, but there's not much character growth. I think overall this storyline was a good concept but the ending just kind abruptly happened.

Characters.
Yes, everyone in this manga is out to rape the main girl, or falls for her. I mean there's nothing wrong with a reverse harem but it makes their love that much less meaningful. I do love all the guys though, they're so hot. And the girls characters are funny, cute, and strong as well, but the main girl suffers from the dimsel in distress disease. I do like how almost every character have their own monster/yokai slightly explained and portrayed in the manga. Overall, my favorite character is actually Hiyo's dad. He is the most mysterious one in the whole manga and I love his baby face! And in the ending he even had a black and white wing and had lived for ten thousands of years... Hmm, interesting. I also like Hitomi, Jiro, Vice President, and Yuki's character. And yes Kuro was hot but not well deepened. Hiyo is mainly the naive girl that relies on Kuro and bring a comedic relief here and there.

Overall not bad, but I've read better. 7/10

It was a good read and there are minor complaints and compliments like any other series.
The only thing is that the ending was so predictable that it can be guessed straight away as soon as the very first of the "foreshadowing" is shown. It isnt a terrible thing in itself but it seems like the mangaka thinks his/her readers wouldnt be able to guess it and then puts in so much hints and foreshadowing that even if you just barely skimmed the series you would know how it would end. Not only that but when it finally came to the ending, it was made so dramatic-like but since you already know what was going on there was literally no suspense at all.
P.S the ending wasnt bad, personally i liked it, it's just that i didnt like the fact i saw it coming and there was no way it would of been a surprise

Truthfully, this manga is only good to read on a rainy or a boring afternoon. There's hardly any character development. I actually read this a few years back and only now remembered to move this to my complete list while I was cleaning out my reading list. To be honest, this story has stuck with me, but only because some of the ideas and concepts are unique.
It has great similarities to Black Bird- tengus, youkai, etc. While Black Bird's heroine is a crybaby, this one is immature and is drawn so that she looks like an eight year old girl. This series drags out for a long time, and is kind of episodic (in my opinion). If you were only to read bits here and there, and just skip to the end, you wouldn't have missed anything.

It's never good but it's overall pretty enjoyable. There's a definite step up in quality around vol 3 and we get something close to a plot instead of just "Who's molesting Hiyo this chapter?"

Is it worth the read?

I would say, it's worth the read, but probably not worth the money. If you can borrow it somewhere, go ahead.

I've read much worse, but also much better. I enjoyed the read somewhat and it'll stick around with me for a while, but it wasn't anything... special either.
The ending doesn't really keep up with the rest of the series, so don't worry if you find yourself quitting halfway through, you're not really missing out on anything if it can't keep you reading at least that long.

I read this about 2 years ago, so in a way I have a soft spot for this manga. Recently, I've been going back and forth on this manga, randomly reading it. Although there is sometimes too much drama, it's a fun read if you have time. I might just be bias cause of my "soft spot" but overall, it's a decent manga. Nothing really memorable, but nothing overly bad, (except for the fact that the MC looks like a child, so the whole time, I was thinking,"PEDO!" at the guy) but it has some really good comedy scenes. smile
