What a short but entrancing read! The characters are amazing and make you genuinely care about them. The art is absolutely gorgeous. This is my third time re-reading, it made me feel nostalgic it a strange way every time. The story It is not fully scanlated, however all volumes are out officially in English, so do support the author if you can.

Took me 9 years from the first scanlation release to now to finally finish this series, but it was well worth the wait! The characters and their interactions with each other are so fun and definitely takes you on a journey. I love how we get to learn everyone's backstory and their motivations for their actions. The series was wrapped up real nicely (

although it did feel a bit rushed, like what was the illness Yumurasaki had!?
) and was a great reincarnation story.

Finally!! A great red-lights district manga!

It's rare to see a red-lights district themed manga that doesn't just repeat the "I love you! I can't be with you... let me buy you out... happy ending/tragedy" cliche. The plot is original, the artwork beautiful and the characters well-developed. Especially that of Yuumurasaki: she is the epitome of the "strong female character". Unfortunately that label is tagged on too frequently to silly heroines who run around trying to solve everything themselves but always need the male lead to save their ass in the end. Yuumurasaki cannot change her situation but what she can and does do is choose to see it in a positive light so that she live her life without giving in to despair. That takes a lot of strength!

I can see why some readers have found the male protagonist's slightly female characteristics off-putting. But I think that's exactly what makes these characters - both Yukari and Mahoro - so great! The mangaka did a wonderful job of creating strong personalities irrespective of gender! And frankly, isn't the strong male / weak female stereotype getting a bit old??

Emotional realism with a very, very light touch, crowning the mangaka's previous works.

Shiomi Chika-sensei, chica, I love you. I put off reading this because, forced prostitution, yuck, but you wove the practicalities of the woman's experience into her male reincarnation's life with such...validity yet with such a light touch, that I was glad I checked out the first two volumes from the library in spite of the weighty week behind me.

Enjoying this! Though at times, I would feel that I have to shift some principles in me to continue liking it, but so far, I've come to appreciate and understand some disturbing things smile You'd understand me once you've read this biggrin

I was very pleasantly surprised by Yukarism. In my experience, time travel is just asking for a polygonal love shape of some sort, but so far Yukarism has focused steadily on its main 6 (3) characters. Their interactions are interesting and the romance is absolutely charming. I'm so happy to have found this manga!

I prefer guys to be more possessive and pro-active in relationship. But, in this story, he was a female in this previous life and unfortunately he keeps displaying female coquettish characters ~ kinda turns me off.
Others found it good, but this isn't for me.

Interesting and Really Good

It's not your average shoujo romance fantasy, I tell you!!!
I thought the plot would be like the weakly girl had a connection with the other world and was frequently targeted by outside forces and the protagonist guy would show up and protect her and risk his life.
But I was dumbfolded, It's not like the typical plot you see in fantasy shoujo.
Every chapter leaves you with a deep impression.
I like how I keep craving for more chapters after I read one after another.
The story is sooo good unlike any other.
The guy maybe eccentric but he is super amusing and interesting.
I also like the girl very much for being eccentric as the guy...hehehehe

This is really a gem...
Please translate the ongoing chapters..
Its really good, I'm serious here.
I rarely give a superb review and this manga is worth it!!!!!!!!!

This is my new fav manga for sure. The story is good and very much engaging. The art is to die for. Very cute.

Lots of fan service. For girls. Hehe. Yukari is one good looking man. And he has this sexy vibe going for him that's not at all intentional. Yukari's personality is simply amazing. He has an interesting mind, making his thoughts and actions quite funny. Completely lovable.

The plot is so interesting and creative. The whole past overlapping present is very intriguing. I especially like the whole reincarnation thing. the story is written well that i dont get confused about the two timelines. I just wanna read more so I can find out what happened.

I think there could be comments about the possible boy-love in this manga. It is very very subtle, but there is something there definitely. Maybe more of a platonic/possessive/protective kind of love from one guy to another. Like an exaggerated brotherly love. Idk. It doesn't bother me. I like it actually. Doesn't take away from the plot at all.

The reason why there might be questions about yukari's sexuality is because there is body swap. Yukari, despite the name, is a guy. He is a reincarnation of an Edo period oiran (like a geisha), a woman. It's quite funny and interesting.

Anyways. I'm loving this manga. I want more!!

Yukarism is definitely a very interesting and lovely manga. The characters are for now well constructed and do not let you down as the series progresses (though I can't confirm this, it will depend as the series goes on). Also, the plot only gets better as it progresses, it does not stray from its original idea but instead builds upon the main idea. I would definitely praise the plot and give the mangaka an applause for the plot and drawing. The drawing in particular is clear, clean and beautiful. The artwork is very good with conveying emotions, it gives the readers a reaction/respond. Also, the characters are also good looking (which is a bonus bigrazz ). Overall, I would say that this is a manga for anyone who enjoys a hint of romance but focuses more on the storyline with comedy here and there (that actually gets me smiling or giggling). I can't wait see how the story goes, and I hope you will spend your free time reading this manga smile
