This series is about a girl who doesn't feel anything and the MMC who is a teenage actor and there romantic connection with each other. thats pretty much it
I mean the series is a small 1 volume series. Saying anymore would be a spoiler. But like Shit is sad man. Its not like bawling or anything but goddamn the author really pulled my heartstrings like that. The series is ok overall though. But i think it does a decent enough job to want you feel for the characters. To make you want to cry like they do. Its quite impressive how the author is able to make you get attached with 1 volume. Overall its good. Just not a must read. 6/10
The series HAL is a collection of oneshots. the final oneshot is actually a prequel to Rec. You can decide to read before or after Rec.

OMG.... I cried in the end. I was crying in Satoru final moment. (TдT) If I be Minami maybe I will never stop crying.....
You should read this manga. I like Makino-sensei story except Sekai no Hate... It's to heavy to follow it.

Almost made me cry at the end. It was really really really beautiful and moving. It was an obvious tragedy from the end of the first chapter. It was beautiful nonetheless.
Sort of reminds me a lot of Taiyou no Uta (in a way...)
Love it. I would very much recommend it to those who love tragedies and heartwrenching stories.

T^T sob sob...i keep on saying ..."ok its fiction ok,dont u dare cry"..huhu...sob sob...
Personally thinking...
In the whole process of the story exclude the ending..the story wasnt have the tragic feeli'n in it..but at the end..when the guy from the media gave her the camera n when she saw the footage of the video satoru take before he died...that when my emotion breaked..when i saw minami start to cried...i also started to cried...
It really worth reading...give a try...

I think what makes this manga so beautiful is the execution. There are hints placed all through-out the four chapters about what is going to happen--so when the actual events occur, everything makes sense. You don't expect it, but when everything happens, you aren't exactly surprised... and that makes it all the more tragic.
I often give up on reading romance manga because too often the lead couple and the plot are made of flimsy substance; the fact that this short piece focuses on the inevitable tragedy of its romantic couple gave it a beautiful depth.
The characters aren't the most original. Not even the story is original. But what makes REC so great, enjoyable and painful to read is the romantic AND individual development of the two. They affect each other so positively, not burdened by trivial worries.
The ending really, really hurts in the absolutely best way. My chest clenched with that painful emotion I only experienced when I heard my grandfather passed away. I'm not one to cry, but I had grown so attached to the two within the few short chapters that when I saw the last page, I lost it.
Very well done. If you're okay with tragedy, this manga is a great reminder to love those around you more than your own life.

At first, I really wasnt moved by the manga. I honestly didn't think much of it....Until I read the ending. It hit me like a punch in the stomach and I started sobbing. It was beautiful to the point of being painful.
Read it... Please. Overlook everything else and read it.

This manga has been one of my favourites so far. I read it some years ago, so forgive me if I get some things wrong. The plot is great and I can definitely feel and sympathise for the characters, something that only happens with really good manga for me. The ending could have not been better and if it had ended differently, it would have not been memorable and great as it is. The art is beautiful.
You just have to read it.
You just have to read it.
Truly is bittersweet.

These two individuals shared a bond like no other.
The manga has little physical interaction between the two leads. At first I thought there wouldn't be much chemistry and I was a bit sad, to tell you the truth, but the lack of physicality did not affect that romantic, loving feel. It just made it seem more special. The mangaka was able to portray that final blow in the final pages that just made me think "WOW ;A;" (I think most people teared at that point).
The tragic end was expected but yet unexpected.
In a nutshell, it was a nice read

I have no idea how good it is, or at least supposed to be based on the ratings. As soon as the traditional cold front ridiculously "sweet" inside appeared, I dropped out. How typical.
Prob gonna get better afterwards, but honestly, no matter how good it's gonna get, it's not worth reading at least to me. That girls personality... plus the author's way of expressing it: overly serious way of showing off her greatness, unfortunately I hate those types of girls. Whoever's failure that the first chap wasn't enough to grab someone's attention.
