Lousy Adaptation

It's a shame the original novel isn't listed on this website. It's a fantastic story about an unlikely and touching friendship, and I would give it at least a '9'. The live action movie adaptation is also pretty good, and probably deserving of a 7.5 or 8. Sadly this manga features lousy rushed art, changes to the story that don't make much sense, and is padded by unrelated side stories. Give the novel a read. You'll be glad you did.

I'm a fan of the novel and the movie was okay, but the manga is the worst. Instead of taking up the entire volume, the actual adaptation only takes up about 1/4 of the book, which makes the story go by too fast and the events seem disconnected.

Disconnected and bad

The whole story line was disconnected, the characters acted weird and a lot of the situations were laughable.
really? really now? that makes absolutely no sense at all and was just put in the plot to introduce 'prince charming'. the biker girl gang was stupid, and the people's actions werent realistic.
dont read it.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
these dudes try to get the lolita girl naked to see if she was cheating at pachinko

many other things could have happned if there were a couple of volumes more...
but as for what i read...i like the characters!!! ichigo and momoko and also raichi!!! they remind me of a fruit salad!!! <srawberry, peach and lychee...delish~>...the characters personality are lovable and everything is always hilarious...especially the "i will grab their balls" part and she really did!!!
but one thing...what happens to momoko and mr. isobe afterwards?? thats why i hate short stories...
but i also like the side story!!! the girl trying to be mature even though shes still childish...but i like the way that she left the guy!!!~

I read the first chapter in Shojo Beat and the manga is defenitly not as good, but good in it's own right. Everything is out of order and Ichigo looks like a boy, but once you get past that part I'm sure it's good

Very Good!

I haven't read the novel or seen the movie, but this manga was pretty good in its own right! I really enjoyed it - and the side story was excellent, as well. I'd recommend it. Now I want to see that movie...
