This story is about "Yusura" who was left under a cherry tree 15 years ago. She grew up as a daughter of a pharmacist and works as a "Hikeshiya", who can erase sadness from people by using the Kongoumaru, which turns blue as it absorbs people's sorrows, then sends it back to the person guilty of causing the sorrow

This is probably the only Watase Yuu work that I've liked, probably because it's absent of her trademark bucketfuls of unnecessary angst. <I>Appare Jipangu!</I> is 3 volumes of full out crack and never takes itself seriously. There isn't much of a plot - it's based entirely on Yusura's various adventures as she cures people's sadness and searches for her past - but action and fluffy romance makes up for it. Yusura and Samon (a total beta male) are adorable, and who can resist the crazy inventions and the robo dog-car with GPS... in Edo? It's hilarious. My only complaint is that Samon had <I>no</I> character development and switched affections from Oteru to Yusura in the matter of a few pages at the beginning, but ah well. This is entertainment that's best enjoyed without expectations.
fufufufufufufu...this seriues really made me laugh as in laugh out loud...but since i laugh at almost anything...i wont base my rating on that...
i have to agree on the other comments in here...the romance is under developed...she was like ok with having only him replace the kongomaru, which she considere a a part of herself...i think it went to fast...
the adventure was kindda cliched...and the story was kindda repetitive...and what a watse story with betrayal and other lying people?? so it was kindda predictable for me...but at the very least it was entertaining..

This is one of my favorite Watase Yuu works. It was a fun read, very amusing, and had lots of laughs. The romance was a bit underdeveloped, but that's okay since the heroic antics and the adventure was more enticing.
