Shoujo girl who runs away
Rating: 6.5 / 10.0

I remember Toru has a line in Dengeki Daisy where she says something like 'I wanted to be the shoujo girl who runs away'. This manga is the epitome of shoujo girls running away, shoujo guys running away, SO MUCH POINTLESS DRAMA that could have been avoided by ten seconds of honest conversation. The side couple is especially ridiculous with the length of time their misunderstandings persist. That being said, the art is pretty and I liked the main pairing. There were a number of nice cute/refreshing moments, just don't expect much plot other than that generated by absurd misunderstandings and angst.

I liked the main couple, they were cute together. What I didn't like was...

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The love triangle between the female lead's best friend, male lead's best friend, and female lead's brother. Mainly because the little brother NEVER even gets a chance. The girl only sees him as a "little brother" and she's googly eyed over the guy from chapter 1. It seemed so fucking pointless.

It's okay... but the heroine is so goddamn annoying

She's not even like tsundere at a point. It's like she's got a brain condition that inverts all her sentences so she says the opposite of what she wants to. The male lead isn't even fucking "teasing" her, he's just capable of having a conversation unlike the other guys in the manga.

Its different than herother works and i hope she doesn't make it too long or just dramaric; i like it at first without the drama but i just cant stop reading i am expecting new chapters of this one, so you should read it!

There's two heroines but of course I think that the focus is more on Chihiro currently (17 chapters so far). Reading miyasaka kaho's preview works, I feel like the makeup of the plot line has improved at least somewhat. I'm more intrigued this time around!!! Curious as to what will happen. The main guy is still mysterious.. I think only Chiro, her best friend and Chiro's younger brother aren't people with some crazy past. They're just innocent and I like that. All the guys right now seem so have an alternative motive...I want to continue reading it!

The biggest problem with having two heroines is that you're bound to compare one to the other. In my case, I definitely have a preference of one over the other. One has a hot tempered but fairly interesting personality, while the other is another typical shoujo mousey character who thinks she's not pretty, lacks self esteem and with the only redeeming point as being a nice person. The plot has just started but I can see it as descending into the typical predictable plotline that is only good for reading for serious procrastination time. And obviously the redeeming thing about the plot would only be the heros who seem to at least know what they want.

I've been reading blogger Kat's summaries of this series at tatsukida pitas and I must say that it caught my attention. Two best friends finding their respective romances, as it seems there are two heroes for each heroine, a total of six characters. All six characters were already shown in the prologue but there's an extra guy that hasn't appeared as of the moment which makes me intrigue. And finally as what blogger Kat said on the prologue, "Numerous ‘red threads’ intertwine. Brewing a few romances. This is a 7 guys and girls, willfully and unrestrained, youth idol drama."

I would be happy if scanlators pick up this series. smile
