Description
Kouki and Shiori are high-school students who fall in love for the first time in the month of April among the dancing sakura; but their experience with these new feelings is as tentative as the slightest wind of the changing seasons.
Even so, never a day goes by that isn't stirred by their first love. The scenery they view from inside the Ferris wheel, walking on the streets together through the rain?in this fashion, the red thread that ties these two together grows stronger as time passes. This is the story of how they live their lives through the first six months of their relationship.

Another Form of Fairy Tale of Inseparable Love

I really like story of two people especially when it comes to romantic relationship. So this one easily becomes my favorite. What makes me love this manga more is the two characters loved each other no matter what happens to them, tho they understand that circumstances doesn't support their relationship. In the end, their relationship is like a fairy tale of Inseparable Love.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I wouldn't call this a sad ending, neither would I call it a happy one tho. The author just left it to our interpretation if the two will meet up and reconcile, or maybe re-start their relationship with more mature mindset or not.

Long distance relationship is hard, but when you really love each other and have a mature mindset I don't think it's impossible. The two characters in the manga are shown really love each other, even after years passed they rejected people who try to approach them. Also, the guy have come to an understanding of his mistake that lead them to break up and the girl's comment when she already an adult and give an advise to her kouhai shows that she already understands what is needed to go through Long Distance Relationship. So I decided to interpret the ending as a sign of a happy ending, they will reconcile and re-start their relationship with more mature mindset. I see this one as a fairy tale of Inseparable Love.

Good manga with unexpected ending!

This is one of those rare manga which you'll either love or hate, depending on how much of a romantic you are.

The story starts off so sweet, it's perfect! And the confession! These two were meant to be! XD The chapters show how they go on dates, deal with issues and secrets and a few insecurities. The main one is always the girl's age. Having to repeat her school year again, being older than her boyfriend. She's also one of those self-sacrificing, mature girls who thinks about everyone but herself. This does add tension to their relationship.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The second volume shows them breaking up after the girl wants to find work in Osaka, putting her family before her boyfriend. The poor guy lashes out and they end up breaking up later. They don't meet for a year (or maybe more, hard to tell), they both get jobs. Then on the 27th of the month, their anniversary of when they started dating, they meet once more under the same sakura tree.

So this manga is a bit bitter sweet but more seer than bitter.

Frustrating

I liked it at first, but... oh, how do I explain my feelings?
I feel like my time has been wasted. It starts out great and then gets more and more depressing... and THEN the ending hits!

If you like happy endings, don't bother with this.

The series does not flow well

My thoughts up to chapter 6.

First, the positives. It has great art and cute scenes.

Next, the negatives. There's too much needless inner monologues and narration. 70% of the series are just narrations or the character's inner monologues, which are needless because what's written is repeating what's drawn or explaining a situation that we already understand...

Finally, the characters. The main guy is decent. The girl, who is older than him by 2 years, is immature and unnessarily insecure for no reason. It comes off as her being selfish that leads to silly misunderstandings. Every chapter is a retelling of her insecurities and selfishness in one form or another, which became annoying and boring.

Overall, it's average despite the fabulous art. The mangaka tried a different approach to narrate the plot but it didn't flow well with the storytelling. The plot itself is fine but its execution, such as repetitive and overused narration/inner monologues, really disrupted the flow of the story. It was annoying to the point that I just skipped any pages with narration...because it's just filler writing to take up page count.
