The manga is really choppy and rushed. It feels a bit all over the place.
I haven't watched the anime, but considering they turned a 24-episode anime into a 9-chapter manga, it's to be expected.

There is so much passion and the artwork is beautiful! I could feel their love for each other, which was a young-mature type of love. Ignoring the comparison to its anime, just read it. It's worth it
The anime was great too, but in my opinion, I enjoyed the manga's artwork much better. You MUST give this a try.
Every time I read it I NEVER get tired of it ahhh it's so great I love it. I have to say it's one of my all time favorite mangas

I watched the anime version of Romeo X Juliet first and… it was a ton better than the manga. However during the review I won’t compare the manga to the anime, to keep the review focused on the manga and not how bad it was compared to the anime. That said, the manga was all that terrible, it was actually quite good, but a little incomplete.
Plot- The plot is interesting, a new take on the classic Romeo and Juliet story. However it was a bit incomplete, a few events happened a bit to quickly and the pace could have been slowed down a bit.
Characters- The characters are all nice, especially Juliet who is turned into a very strong female lead whose not afraid to fight for what she wants. However there are some characters who could have used a bit more characterization and it was hard to really connect with those characters.
Art- The art is very nice, beautiful and very fitting for this manga.
Other- As I said the manga felt a bit incomplete, there were a few random events, the pace could have been slowed a bit to allow some room for expansion, both in the plot and for fleshing out the characters. As it stands the manga is great but it isn’t bed either and it is still an enjoyable read. The beginning was very good the ending however wasn’t as good. I would recommend watching the anime (which is ten times better than the manga) and whether you read the manga I would leave up to you. The manga changes up a few events making it a bit different from the anime (without completely changing the story) which makes it still entertaining and new to read even if you have watched the anime. Just let it be known that the manga isn’t that bad on its own.
6/10 –Liked it

I watched the anime first because one of my friends told me to. It was really good. The manga however felt rushed and so many important parts were left out. I felt that if it had been longer then it would have been a whole lot better. It's cute but I would recommend anyone to watch the anime before reading the manga.

I haven't seen the anime, nor did I expect a manga rendition of Shakespeare's Romen & Juliet, since there have been many similar themed stories which are interesting and unique in their own right.
However, the plot of this manga seemed extremely rushed. New characters appear and never become fully developed. Tybalt, for instance, had a significant story behind him which was glossed over and cheapened until he became the skulking black knight who appeared when it was convenient and said a few cryptic remarks.
The manga also made use of typical cheesy gimmicks like Juliet saving the girl who hates her and, while bleeding, smile gently down at her and ask if she's alright, thus changing her opinion of Juliet. Or Romeo's last words to his father- very cliché. All that has been done a million times before and in better ways. Because this manga is already "borrowing" some details from Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, it would make sense for it to strive to be more unique, to have something about it that stands out and is innovative. Instead, it becomes this mass of Western and Japanese stereotypes, which would be hilarious if this was a parody, but because it took itself so seriously, the manga just fell flat.
Finally, the ending seemed extremely out of sync with the main plot. Oh, let's introduce a baddy at the last minute! The manga dragged on, and was only memorable in being how painful it was to read.

this is way too short, as previously stated there were so many important scenes in the anime which the manga has skimped over
in the manga the basis of the story is still there, but almost nothing is explained. the characters are still drawn well and are cute, but there is no visible character development at all.
taken by itself: you still have a good story but the characters are only good if you know which literary figures they represented, and the art style is superb. (yes that's right it's great stuff)
still feel like i've wasted my time reading this... would have much preferred to rewatch the anime...
i was so excited to see the manga completed, i had been waiting for it since the release of the anime... my excitement has simmered down to a mellow enjoyment... which is regrettably disappointing

This is a great read; but when you read it, it's best to take Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet completely out of your mind. This is his story put into another world, and thinking of the original story will hinder your appreciation of it. The characters are the same, but plot has been completely skewed.

I am not done watching the anime. But it really makes me wonder what will really happen although I have the idea because of the original work of Shakespeare. I also agree that the manga is so condensed and I really makes me think that the manga done to summarise the anime (LOL). Anyway nice work and good plot, although I have a slight frustration in the anime. In some part I think in episode 15 or 16 (somewhere along there) the animation is not really good, that it seemed that they are doing it so as to finish the project.
