Ponta anxiously awaits the first big event in his high school life that will give him the opportunity to lose his virginity. A trip to the beach with his friends Taro and Jiro, in the company of three girls, Emi, Rumi, and Chisa. Coupling is done by janken and Ponta ends up with Chisa, the girl of his preference. His plans fail miserably though, when it turns out that Chisa is not so willing as he thought she would be. So, at the end of the trip, unlike his friends who tease him about this failure, he still remains a virgin. To his friends' surprise though, Chisa turns around and asks him to keep in touch.
Thus begins the romance between the two. Their friendship evolves into love, and like in any relationship, there are a few hurdles to overcome. For starters, Chisa is still very innocent and has good reasons not to hurry their physical relationship as much as Ponta would want to. Ponta, who has hopelessly fallen for her, decides to endure this and help Chisa uncover her womanhood.

More for the ladies imo, should be Josei rather than Seinen; i see people here crying about others complaints on whether or not they should stay together after the "incident"; and what would a typical guy do? well, this isn't the place for that... the manga itself is pretty solid, but hard to cope with at times; storywise its ok, i've seen better relationship development plots in my time... especially in the Seinen department

oh and Kiru, you are a huge douchebag; many guys would continue dating her, it seems clear what you see in women from your mindless statement

If I had to in one word describe this story is - F**K !

No not the manga, that is just what would you feel like halfway into the manga.. yes, this is one a mind screw ladies and gentlemen..

Really, for those innocent young ones out there, beware! This is a story of innocence spoiled.. heh even I am getting riled up again.

This manga will open up new perspective on relationship and trust..

Ahh.. well without revealing too much spoiler, all in all this manga teaches you that there is a silver lining to every cloud, but only if you persevere.

Ah, one more thing. Little boys out there, learn from Ponta. Sometimes there journey is also as enjoyable as the destination. I agree thoroughly with RiderFan.

I've never been this pissed off by a manga before.. heh and I thought that I was tolerant..

A good relationship manga.

It shows how relationships should (and used to) be. Not rushing into anything physical is extremely critical for a relationship to last. To all of you who think that he should have "done" her and left her, I have nothing but sorrow for you.

Now, if

If only at the end they would have gotten married before losing it to each other, this manga would have been perfect.

Downloaded the raws for chapters 2-5, and my main point is: there's no way a guy would continue dating a girl who lost her virginity to another guy. Especially after enduring a year of suffering. I'd recommend adding tag "Fantasy" or something.

For good ecchi romance drama whatever check out Hary Yo Koi. Thank you for your attention.

Just read the final volume (better say skipped through it as I wanted to get rid of the series ASAP) and you know what... eventually it was worse than any shoujo out there.

well...unsettling but rich both in story and art

I totally agree with peanutss777 here, this is a fairly chiselled and mature manga that definitely won't leave you untouched. It belongs to the very few dramatic ones I like and it is worth reading up to the end (yess I hate stories that are unsettling plus the ending is sad as well). Chisa is far less annoying than many shoujo leads, I would rather consider her initial behaviour shy but not hopeless smile. 9/10 for me, since the art is pretty well done.

...would it be cliche to say "annoying?"

This series has its comedic moments... which are few and far between I might add. Apart from that, you have the standard sex aspect to move the plot along. Add that to a female lead that I personally despise, and you get this manga.

All in all... its ok.

I think Chisa x Pon can be summed up in one word: Annoying.
I don't know what the author is trying to do, but so far, the manga is just running around in circles, with an EXTREMELY annoying female lead, and a spineless male lead who should have dumped her long time ago.
Basically, she's a cruel tease, and he accepts being pushed around.
