I like the story in the beginning however started to hate it due to both lead characters unreasonable and unrealistic behaviour.
But, there was a turning point that made me love it back.
Both male and female lead resolved I would say. They messed up and they owned it.

I say this because both this and Hana Your Dango are criticized heavily but are both good at developing atmosphere and tugging on your emotions and are also dramatic.

Suzuka herself is a self-absorbed woman who pines for a dead lover. It took the anime 23 out of 24 episodes before she finally accepted the mc. They call it a romance anime/manga, but it's mostly just Suzuka being a douchenozzle because the mc doesn't live up to her dead lover's legacy. Thus, this is in my bottom 3 anime that I have ever watched out of over 350 anime.

While it started with a good plot and interesting characters, it develops in a lame way that doesn't has any sense at all, the situations that the characters go through are too forced and most of the times ends up in a bad way, also the characters not being honest with themselves is something that nobody can't stand, besides the main characters is too stupid, to the point that it' doesn't even have sense how stupid he is, not knowing about anything, unsure, unsafe, the worst in my opinion, also his choices were always bad being selfish and only caring about himself.
Anyways, there are some good characters but no the main characters.. it would have been a story with a good developing, with an actual character with a dream, meta, etc, and to finish this, it's one of the worst endings I've ever seen, the reason the characters don't reach their dreams makes the ending so stupid and bad, maybe it seemed that they did their best to have a good life but it was just a bad plot, too normal. I'm sure everyone like complex situations and this didn't have one. Worst main character ever to the point of ruining Suzuka's career.. what was the author thinking..

Not a simple plot, tells the difficulty of a boy to become good at sports for one love and to overcome the difficulties that arise.

I have to agree with Rhadaze: Suzuka + Strawberry 100% = Would be the Master Piece

After finishing the manga, the ending was good. The manga will draw you in and force you to read it from start to finish but I want to add some warnings for those reading this series for the first time... do start reading for anything else other than romance and the drama that goes with it. The manga will lead you to follow Yamato and his track success but do not get your hopes up . Read this for the intentions of romance and drama and you will be happy with it.

i think it's a feminist style of manga and also the romance was kind of lacking some senses that you might think "it is really that what she/he feels?"... the idea of the main female was some kind of a bipolar or something that can't defy her character and the situation.. also i can't really stand the ideas of a main male who was a typical idiot/stupid that always blaming himself, getting the wrong impressions by simply putting wrong acts and ends it with a good conclusion even though it is not thoroughly and clearly explained... But it is overall that it came close to what we see in the real world though for me it is kind of exaggerating the "factors of love"....

I had a question (if you kinda re-direct the story);

What if Suzuka didn't get pregnant, will the story goes on with some marrying stuff, (yamato being a good father, getting a fine job to support the family, etc.) or something that will complicate again the relationship of the two and ending again with break up? How would you end the story?

because in my opinion the idea of "love" in this manga is just so sudden to the point that; when she suddenly breaks up and then restarting the relationship and founding out that she is pregnant and the male becomes so frustrated acting being so responsible and ending up marrying her without thinking because he thought that this is only the way and the typical ending it is HAPPY (although when it comes to romance genre i like nice and a happy one)... well this is only my opinion because i didn't get the idea of being interested with some flashy plots... B)

Considering the fact that most romances suck, this one gets a couple of points as I read all of it.

I'd been searching for a good shounen romance for a long time and the premise of this series caught my eye for years but I'd been told it was a kind of raeg manga. I didn't really find that to be the case, though.
'Haru Yo, Koi!' (though that's seinen) was better with the whole multiple girls coming and going thing (though in this, Suzuka is there almost the whole time).
The epilogue seemed to randomly shove in that for a happy ending but it hardly seems believable.

EDIT: holy shit it's 9 years later and for the past few years I was convinced that I never read more than a couple of chapters of this at most. This is literally forgettable... o.o

I Really didn't like the main character personality from the first chapter, and don't like tomboy girl like the female lead.
But I considered the good rating of this manga on this site and decided to give it a shut.
I'm in the middle of the 4th chapter and it just keep getting annoying!!! V.ANNOYING!! Actions that doesn't make sense!!
Like in the 4th chapter when the tanned girl take a needle and inject it into the guys NECK just because of a little cold!! I MEAN COME ON!!!!
