i like sports anime [even more if there are hints of romance in it]

ok, the art is oldschool but with modern coloration.
i never read the manga, because the art wasn't my cup of beer.
but i saw just for fun the first anime episode and the drama flashed me, after that the baseball thing flashed me....

now i'm waiting for every chapter and every anime episode. and in my free-time i play baseball on my wii [too sad but in my country baseball is so small.....we dont have any teams or clubs]

I don't know, maybe it's just my taste, hmm! I'd read touch, H2, rough, katsu... most of adachi's works. They all had the same drawing style, the stories were somehow similar, BUT i'd never got bored of his works.

To this point, Cross Game is definitely one of adachi's best work, probably on the same level as touch,(above h2 a lil' bit, lol). the ending is closing but as always, adachi is unpredictable, i still can't guess who will end up together?

Koh-Akane or Koh-Aoba? Arrrrrrrr! hell, i hate waiting.

Adachi is Adachi, if you dont like his style please stop reading his work, we (who like his style) enjoy it big time, ending style might be annoying to some people, and might be best type of ending for some, i like Adachi's style and enjoy it ^^

i had read H2 a while back and the ending left so many questions unanswered it left a bad taste in my mouth, so from then on i was anti Adachi fan but being bored got the best of me and i started reading this. Its funny from the first chapter on i was hooked. I like the character developments, of course the little comedy spots here and there are classic Adachi, the romance is brought out better and i feel the hiatus should produce a good ending. on a side note i was the one who asked in the forum "is it worth it?" and here i am pretty much 3 months later praising it so Yes it is worth it.

i have just read like 5 adachi mangas in a row and i gotta say, the endings tend to suck. this is such a good manga, i dont want to see it destroyed by a crappy ending

this is adachis best work yet.
from the first volume he throws at you, with a major twist in the end [provided you didnt read the pot summary] already shows you that this work is slightly different from the others.
the story this time, is far deeper. characters have far more invested in em. love triangles are solid and confusing, as they should be. and actually, i have the feeling that sport takes more of a backseat in this manga than his other ones [such as Touch and H2 - whcih was all about the sport].
this manga differs from H2, becuase you want to know what is going to happen next - instead of the "meh, who cares" that i got with the aforementioned H2. comedy is a bit more polished. a lot less pointless fanservice [think miyuki... and then be thankfull this one isnt like that]

Cross Game is the first sports/Adachi manga I have ever read, and I am relatively surprised at Adachi's ability to suck people in with his plot, characters, and excellent art. Although the characters looks old school, they have a nice charm that makes a person feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Adachi sure knows how to blend sports with romance and drama along with a slice of comedy.

Even though its another baseball manga from Mitsuru Adachi and the characters looks the same as always, i think the story is great! It's a lot different from any of his previous work. This ones got a very serious story, lots of hidden meanings to the characters lines and actions, and I think the tragedy in the first volume's a very important part of the plot, it stirs up the story. But I think its more suitable to be labeled as seinen rather than shonen, don't you think so?

There should be some warning with that first volume, like being in the Tragedy genre or something. Though, for some reason, I had the feeling something bad was going to happen.

I've read most mangas by Adachi which are translated and I really like his work but I'm just feed up with the same stuff again and again. Would it hurt to do something new, it hasn't to be much, just a tiny bit, even the art hasn't changed the slightest in the last 25 years. Character design, jokes, story... basically always the same. Well only Adachi can do that and still creating a great manga, after all the guy is a genius. But I've reached the point where it is enough, maybe if I read it again when it is finished I will like it more. And of course this manga is a masterpiece, like every (baseball) manga by him but it is like reading a mash between H2 and Touch.
