Edited by mod: SPOILERS AHEAD

the story is different from kenshin. kyo is not a srongest warrior like kenshin. kyo only the last child of mibu clan. so many people are stronger then kyo like kyoshiro mibu.

aoshi want to be strongest, but yukimura dont want to be stongest, but he want defeat tokugawa.

kenshin cant kill but kyo can kill

kenshin fight back the old enemy (he used to fight shisio before) , but kyo want to destroy mibu, he never fight mibu before, he escaping from mibu (kyo havent fight aka no ou before)

only stupid people said that he didnt like sdk but keep reading sdk , haha

Edited by mod: SPOILER WARNING

the story could be good... but, it resembles too much like Kenshin.

Aoshi and Yukimura: they consider their servants as friends

Kenshin and Kyo: they're Japan's strongest warrior, both have a dark past, disappeared after a war (later got caught by a girl for the crimes), and, later in the story, have to fight old enemies.

Kaoru and Yuya: the "violent girl" who meets a normal guy, then realize he's the strongest warrior of Japan. Only one difference... Yuya is a true damsel in distress(all she does is to say "Nooooo!","Kyo, watch out!","OMG!"). Kaoru, on the other hand, she DOES fight and keeps strong for the sake of the guy(i like her better). She's no sitting duck like Yuya.

I would love to continue... but i'll stop here...
If you think that i havent read far enough; i read to around the twenties vol, and Kyo still havent beaten the last boss of the _______ band (wtf, talking about they're god or sumthing)... I continued to read, hoping that the story would take a seperate path, not resembling to Kenshin...damn, was i sooo wrong! go ahead, call me a moron for not liking this series. Keep in mind that Kenshin started b4 SDK, and the story is almost the same (except it has useless longer fights and has wierd magic). In my point of view, SDK is like Kenshin, transformed to be popular for people who loved DBZ, Naruto, One Piece, and you. i could say it's the pop culture cycle. Besides, Kenshin's character development is better than SDK (i feel their characters havent change much...)

This is a great samurai manga. It has a little slow start but by vol 4 or so the series goes from being good to awesome as hell. The characters are quite cool. The main character is a complete bad ass, and there is alot of cool and interesting battles. The story is fun too.Definitely my favorite shonen manga besides One Piece and Groove Rave Adventure at the moment.
I'm sad that so little is fan scanned though.I've been buying the offical books from tokyopop and I've read 15 vols so far and I'm always dying for the next one.The series is at vol 34 in Japan.Arghhh I wanna read the rest so much.
Anyways check out the series and be sure to at least hang with it for a few vols I didn't start loving until vol 4-5.It keeps getting better with each vol.
Also the anime sucks for this series is was very vague and they skipped so much of the story in the first 10 vols or so.So don't miss out on the manga of SDK because the anime wasn't good.
I think this is the best samurai manga ever yes better than Rurouni Kenshin and Vagabond.Although SDK is way over the top crazy stuff compared to those other samurai mangas.
With a manga like this and a few others its no wonder why Weekly Shonen Magazine is just about as popular as Weekly Shonen Jump these days.
