I really liked the first arc. Loved it. Adored it. I cried over it, even, it was that good.

...But the second arc...well, I made it to chapter 49. After that, I haven't been able to make myself read the new chapters.

It's certainly not a terrible manga, and the characters are cool and interesting. The setting and most of the plot are very good.

But the first arc was definitely much better than the continuation.

I still say read it, at least for the beginning. And it hasn't ended yet, and I haven't read the latest chapters, so maybe it gets infinitely better and I just don't know that. smile

Well first of all WOOOO! Third Arc!!! Great art work.Although the beginning seems repititive it gets some meaning later on in the story if u start reading it don't drop it skipped a chapter or two if u have too.One of the best mangas out there.Although I don't think it really could be consider as an echii manga

I'm not exactly sure what to make of this. The beginning is so horribly repetitive that it makes you sick, but then it becomes extremely emotional towards volume 5/6. So...

I suggest reading this if you enjoy shounens about love between two main characters, with lots of action. I'm on chapter 20 and am hooked on this manga, can't wait for more updates biggrin This would get a 10 if the first arc was introduced better.

I completely agree with Molenir. The author should have ended this manga when Zero died. If he ended this manga shortly after the Zero's death, this manga would be a legend that everyone would cry and long for more.

Currently, at least to me, the manga pretty much sucks. It's nowhere as interesting as it used to be. The new arcs are pretty much lame or so draggy.

Ok I had to admit when i first started reading this it didn't really appeal to me since none of the characters were interesting enough to grab my interest.

But and I'll reiterate what some of the other commentators have mentioned already- I urge any body who are interested in picking this up to read on through the early chapters to at least until ch.15 where they start to get into more character depth and figure the story out as a whole. You wont regret it.

First arc was meh, the Zero arc was the only good arc. The rest after that is utterly contrived, bull shit that really makes you understand that the mangaka has no idea about what the hell he's doing.

The translations are slow in coming and the story line is generic in every since of the word. If you have ever read any romance shounen you'll be in for no surprises as it follows the cookie cutter style plot. However it is not with out its own charm and can be compelling in its own right. If you're bored and want to something to do it is worth the time to read it.

The idea is nothing new (and it doesn't get anything new in the process either), and the way how it is presented also doesn't save it. When reading it's pretty easy to guess what's going to happen next, it's so easy that sometimes you could even get a feeling you have already read it before. It has tons of cliches just name it, they have it - childhood hero, lovers death, unfulfilled love, somebodies death sudden gaining of power and then kicking the shit out of everyone. Even if we close the eyes for the cliches, the cliches are awfully repetitive, like every chapter has them ALL.
For good things.... well they have good looking girls, no srly the only good things, and the best at that. They are very well drawn and are also in practically every chapter. Although the guys are mostly pretty bad looking, so it kinda makes you wonder what kind of world is it were all the girls are beauties and the guys are... well not so pretty.
What could have saved the manga were characters or at least their development. Unfortunately no hope for that one either. If a character does develop then he does it in enormous speed, so fast that you are not even presented the reasons why would he do that.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
For example the guy who was loved by death angels kills all her friends and nearly kills her as well, so she chooses the most logical action and takes revenge.... on th main heroin WHAT THE HELL?
Of course I know there are people who show their love by beating up their love of life. Russians have a special saying for that "If he beats her, then he loves her", but for gods sake he actually killed her and in no chapter she actually gives some time to think about it, if what he did was OK.
Oh, yeah if it wasn't understandable from before the scenario is overdraged.
