REALLY good short story. I can't give it enough praise. It was done in such a realistic (for manga) way. There's not too much drama and flowers and all that. The people are just people. The build up of the romance was really sweet, and the sex was sexy.

Why can't everyone be like Yamai??

He's so refreshingly down to earth. Like when everyone else is blowing everything up in typical manga theatrics he's the only one that realizes it's just a bunch of rumors. Like chill u guys, it's not the end of the goddamn world. And then he's not as dense as 99% of manga characters are and can actually clue in when someone is painfully obvious about their crush on him... Just read it. It's amazing, it's like someone dropped a normal person into a typical manga story.

This was a nice read. Probably one of the more enjoyable BLs I've read in a while. Lots of people have pointed out how sweet it is and what not. but that isn't what did it for me.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
It was probably the fact that the main character wasn't instantly ok with himself. I think the biggest problem I have ever had with a BL was that every guy was like "omg I love guys! I shall sing it to the world!" This story didn't do that. The poor guy struggles with the social stigma that loving guys has. It makes his story seem so much more real and the ending so much more fullfilling.

Only down side is that as good at it is, it's simple enough that it isn't the most memorable story out there. Still a refreshing read, but it's gunna be one of those stories that resurfaces in my mind one day weeks from now, but I'll fixate on for a while trying to remember the the title.

Oh, wow! I'm speechless. I really enjoyed this manga. The romance itself is quite ordinary, but the way sensei shows it is absolutely unique. I read the chapters in the blink of an eye and I have to say, it's easily the best I've came across in the past couple of months.

What really got me awed is the coming of the closet theme. I really felt sorry for poor Endou, and what got me all teared up concerning his past was the fact that it DOES happen in real life, LGBT people really have to suffer such a treatment from homophobe society. It's horrible, but my heart feels warmth now that at least Endou reached the happiness he deserves.

I also have to praise the art, it's really cute and clean. As for the characters, they're fresh and alive, I had strong emotions towards everyone. (plus point for Yamai, who's a real softie beneath the deliquent style, and I totally fell for him xD)

A really sweet romance with quite a lot of drama, but the ending is heartwarming. My first manga from Junko, but definitely not the last. Highly recommended.♥ wink

Cute, short and sweet, and I can understand why people like it. But I didn't find it particularly memorable, maybe because it was so short and there wasn't much time to bond with the characters?

I can't stop smiling. My mouth is all numb from smiling non-stop!! As expected of Junko's work! All of sensei's work is always cute, fluffy and sweet leaving you a heart-warming feeling inside your body. I feel kinda sad for Endou's past and how those idiots laughed and trampled his feelings like that. If it's me, I would probably give all of them a few betch slaps, strips them and leave them hanging on the trees making them as laughing stocks to the public. I just hate people like that. Seriously!

Anyway, as for Yamai, he's a good man! Looks like a runt, but a very, very good man. I really like the plot of this story, the flow of it and the messages being conveyed is very clear. I really, really recommend this!! It's a must read! If it's on your wishlist, quickly read it!

I want to yawp on top of a mountain about how good this is. What I loved is the fact that it combined your usual cheesy, boys love sweetness with actual reality. That sense of realness is what really makes this manga. The dynamic of the characters is done so well too and Junko took what seemed to be a major problem and dealt with it in a somewhat realistic tone and in a way that all people should react to something like this. The characters personalities work very well together and the "seme," for a lack of a better word (of which this word is not the correct to use because it doesn't bring justice to the character), is one that is really interesting and I believe a lot of people desire in boy loves manga. That and there's a kitten in it to boot. There's nothing not to like in this comic, so go read!

I agree with a lot of the comments here, this story is just so cute~! As with all of Junko-sensei's works, the art makes this even more adorable too! ^__^

What I like the most about this, is how the relationship progresses in quite a natural way. Neither of them particularly liked the other at first, then slowly they became friends, then that turned into more. It's not one of those "fall in love at first sight, confess straight away, then have sex immediately after" plots, it takes a bit of time for them to get that far.

Also as other people have mentioned, both main characters are so loveable! The uke is quite timid, and does cry quite a bit, but once you've found out about his past it's completely understandable! When I first read what happened to him, I was actually on the verge of tears, because it really does seem like something that cruel kids might do. The seme is just awesome really. Read it, and I can guarantee that you'll agree!

I personally loved the sex scene. Some people said it was a little bit forced, but I completely disagree. It happened so naturally, just like everything else in their relationship. I happen to think that their first time together was incredibly sweet, not overly graphic or kinky, just two boys in love taking their relationship to the next level ♥
But if you're not into seeing those type of intimate scenes, then just skip the final chapter. This manga is good as shounen-ai if you only read upto chapter 4. The 5th chapter is where it gets a little steamy.

All-in-all this is a lovely manga ^__^

I've recently re-read this and although I still enjoy it, I feel like I can better see its flaws now. Firstly the negatives. This lays out a sweet story and offers little else. For yaoi, it is quite successful as it makes the little fan girl heart flutter, but I think maybe it's a little cheap. Not BAD by any means, just quickly plays on an easy emotional trigger and then wraps it up with a little smut. I dare to say the characters feel a bit flat. They're not bad or horribly unrealistic, which is definitely nice, but something is missing. The protagonist just sort of cries while the love interest "saves" him which is a high yield, low effort plot device really. It's also a bit sad that when the issues of bullying and homophobia are tackled, it is almost always used simply as a way to drive the story forward. Here it is addressed, but only as a way to bring the couple closer. That is just a pet peeve of mine really, but I've gotten to the point where I find it a little offensive.

As for the good, this is a sweet story. Even if I don't appreciate why and how, it *does* cover realistic issues. It does not exist in a bubble where everyone is happy and gay, and where homophobia does not exist. The characters are likable and their relationship quite adorable. For these reasons, it is above average in my opinion.

Definitely a necessary read for any yaoi aficionado. Even though it could use some more chapters (what the hell, make it a multi-volume series, eheh), it can still play very well with one's emotions. It was for the most part a comedy, of course, and yet Endou's story is so compelling, so painful, one is bound to feel for him despite the constant stupid look on his face. Where "School Life meets Comedy" is concerned, this one was by far one of the best "coming out" stories I've encountered. At least in the end of the day Endou's attitudes make sense to me.

In the beginning, the one thing I struggled a little bit with was the art. Yamai's expression had no light, no real meaning to me -- and I don't mean it was of the "I look cool and down on everyone else" kind of expression, I do mean empty. Somewhere around chapter 2 I wasn't so aware of it, so I'll say it grew on me.

Bottom line is: a very good manga throughout, very innocent (not so much towards the end, if y'know what I mean), has a great feeling to it, plus an extremely lovable uke, which - I find - is not very common.
