The first part of this review is in response to Myraidofhate's review. I saw it first before reading, so I started the story with some trepidation because the review made it seem like FL was a cheater and I did not want to root for a cheater. But the review was completely misleading. It is so disgusting that it literally compelled me to make an account just to leave this review. Even the average sane misogynist wouldn't be able to agree with them. So Robellia was just living her peaceful commoner life when she found an injured man. She helped heal him, they fell in love and got married, and she gave him a child. But by chance she finds out he was leading a double life this whole time when she witnessed him as a noble marrying another woman, and then his family kidnaps her child for "lineage purposes" and attempt to kill her off. Imagine if she randomly said, "hang on I bet my husband is secretly a noble who has been tricking me, I'm going to run away," everyone would think she is bat-shit crazy. But apparently that's what Myraid thinks she should have done - that she should have known and therefore, for trusting her husband and saving herself for one man... she's a slt, arrogant, and deserved it?! Of course, Myraid says nothing about the person who betrayed her. It's like if a truck driver decided to get drunk and drive into a restaurant, and then you blame the people sitting in the restaurant for dying. And calling the ML a cuckhold for falling in love and accepting an innocent child....wtf? I guess she can't fall in love again and should just off herself, like what?? According to Myraid, ML is a simp for being straight and liking a woman, so that must mean they look up to the exhusband who started this mess. And to say she's nothing without ML is so twisted. She already has some powers and is actively working on her strategy before ML shows up. If anything, she's the one that gave him the courage to stand up to his father the emperor and the current empress. Calling the ML characterless is such a disservice - despite facing trauma he is kind with some inner steel, compared to Robellia's exhusband who is a wet blanket for saying "wow I love you both equally let's get along" to Robellia and his new wife. And what does Myraid mean "what revenge"? Robellia realized her life was a lie, lost her child (kidnapped), and found out these people were responsible for her ancestor's annihilation - that's so clearly a cause for revenge! I'm literally so enraged by that review. It's deep-incel logic - there is no logic. You have to purposely hate women in order to twist it this far.
But as for my thoughts on the story itself, it's really good. In the beginning, FL is hit with several betrayals in quick succession - she's reeling, in shock and denial, and desperate. It's refreshing that she's not immediately cunning as that would be more unrealistic. But she soon gets on track for revenge, but you can see she really cares most about her daughter's happiness, even if that means her daughter is happier without her. And ML is refreshing too for being genuinely kind and not overbearing. He has a façade to protect himself, but it's so easy to see he's nothing like the kind of man that FL's exhusband is, who is indiscriminate in giving out his proclamations of love. I'm really excited to see how they both get revenge on the people who wronged them, especially FL.
