Description

From Seven Seas:
The story of Athanasia, forsaken princess of the Obelian Empire, ends with her execution at the hands of her own father. Except, did it? Her tragic tale is the plot of the novel The Lovely Princess. But now, a modern woman who has read the book has just woken up as baby Athanasia herself, filled with her memories and knowledge of the story she’s stuck in! Determined to survive her fate, infant Athanasia embarks on this new life with a plan. Avoid attention and hoard valuables to fund her escape. When her plan goes awry, she suddenly needs to charm her way into the good graces of her father, the beautiful tyrant emperor, so he doesn’t kill her again.

It was fun reading the bonding relationship between father and daughter, with some cute boys for possible romantic interest in the future. Then on season 2, the story takes turn becoming a melodrama. I can’t believe they are pulling

amnesia card.

I’ve been scrolling down fast the last few chapters for lacking interest in the story. I still love the cute artworks and the characters though. So for now, I’ll just wait until the series completed before reading it again.

Somewhat Decent

Similar to "They Say I Was Born a King's Daughter", it's cute manhwa that wields cuteness as it main's weapon but isn't that remarkable in other areas, in particular, the pacing is very slow and most of the time there is nothing going on. By the end of season 1, 46ch, the MC is still a kid of 14 years old and it had just jumped 6 years in the story. Another thing that irks me is the perpetuation of the initial plot of survival 'cause the novel went this or that way, this lost it's meaning when the events of her life and the book diverge constantly, so the insistence on the part of the MC that things will still go the book route is kinda pointless and dumb.
As for the characters, the MC is kinda bland and there has been no real introduction to who she is. Unless I missed something big, it's not even clear what age she was before the transportation, let alone what happened to her or how she got transported, etc.. Also, for a reincarnated person she sure does little use of the past lives experiences, other than being cute she does nothing to try to secure her "safety". The other chars are a psychopath father who I don't care how cool he looks he's wrong in the head, a mischievous wizard that is also a psycho, the perfect boring boy she calls male lead and there is also Felix, who has a bird brain, that tries to be good to her but ends causing trouble each and every time, the obtuse and dumb type which might have been ok if he wasn't the right hand of the emperor, Duke, Royal knight and so on, not positions you can achieve if lacking in the brain department. The other relevant char, is of course, Janette, a cute kid I can't help but feel sorry for and (I hope I'm wrong here) she might not have the happiest of endings since she's a tool for an antagonist of the Emperor, the ML's father, an overly ambitious Duke. Of course, this being the kind of story it is I have no doubt some of those chars will turn like pancakes later and profess undying dedication to her.

Regarding the good points, mainly it's the cuteness and great art I can't really think of anything else that is particularly good... well the comedy can be funny at times, specially because of the great drawings that go along with it, for me it's a touch and go (humor is always tricky, many of the things I find annoying might be funny for another after all, thus what's a minus for me might be a plus for another). Also, the plot and the reasons behind his fathers hate are interesting but it's still barely developed (S1) so maybe it will get better later, same for Janette's future since the MC starts to question the book's happy ending, again, not developed yet but the seeds are there.

So overall it's a somewhat decent light read that is fairly entertaining with some moments of good comedy and a slow pace which makes it a tad boring at times for me. The seeds for an interesting story are also there but it's not posible to know if they will bloom, which means my opinion might be overturned if it does bloom and all this was a preamble.
If I hadn't expected so much from it and had read it without all those 10 reviews as expectations maybe I wouldn't be so disappointed by it.

SEASON 2 PLEASE!!!

I love love this webtoon! After every chapter, I find myself craving for more... The character development, the relationship between father and daughter is simply just too spectacular. Especially the end of season 1 dropped us such a huge cliffhanger! Also, excuse me for drooling over Athanasia's hot dad with his chocolate abs bod :'D

Seems like season 2 will not be released until July 2019, till then, I shall wait patiently...

First season better than second

Edit: I liked the first season of this story, but the second season doesn't know where it wants to go. In season 2, the story really slows down and is filled with fillers. I can't name any big events after season 1 ended, and I'm sadly not as excited to continue reading.

The MC starts out as a baby and knows she is weak, so she uses what she has at her disposal to turn those weaknesses into strengths. She is cunning and sincere at the same time. But the main strength of this story is the growth of the father-daughter relationship.

Claude was an absent father for the first five years of her life, but we were able to slowly witness him become a good dad that truly cared for his daughter which made the end of season 1 extra poignant. Another moment that struck me in the feels was when the MC thanked him for everything he had done and acknowledged her love for him as the only true love she has experienced thus far since she was an orphan in her past life. It felt so relateable in that no amount of thanks could truly convey the love she had for him.

One big flaw of the story, however, is how one dimensional the side characters are. Also despite being a reincarnation story, the MC doesn't use any of her previous life's knowledge as a princess. The art was still worth the first season.

It has a cute story with a good art. The art is just so pleasing to the eyes!! After reading the 1st and waiting for the 2nd season, I am planning to read the novel but found out that not much was translated yet >__< ack!

Seriously. So pretty. The art. Is amazing. The art quality does not relent for even one panel. It's gorgeous through and through. I originally intended to read the novel version of this, but I took one look at the webcomic and was like, "nope I need to see this in full color illustrations."
