From Manga-Sketchbook:
"My war isn't over!" One mobile suit infantryman's personal battle resumes as a red fire blazes again in his eyes.
Betrayed by his own men, Captain Grahad Mills, a commander of the SAA Special Force "Jackal," is held responsible for a conspiracy about which he knew nothing. Without defense counsel at his court, he is sentenced to death. On the morning of his execution, he escapes the military detention center; in the process blasting a troop of national military guards and killing its commander - Captain Waldman, his former subordinate and betrayer. All this is for revenge and to find out the reason for the treachery. The former hero - feared and known as "Genocide" - starts to fight a battle he created by himself.

Solid series. The guy below me has no appreciation for manga war stories. This one in particular is very reminiscent of Armoured trooper votoms. A good read on a slow day. The action scenes are nicely drawn, the world has a vaste lore, and the story is intriguing.

The author is very good at drawing mechs but very bad at telling a story. All of the world building is done in the margins of the pages or in long boring paragraphs talking about the chronology of the war. Add in generic war cliches and characters talking about boring political maneuvers between two countries the we know nothing about, and you have a story that is hard to care about.

Red Eyes is what anyone is looking for when it comes to action, military, and unstoppable protagonist with nickname that induces fear and will make anyone soil their pants when they get in his way. The protagonist is like Liam Neeson with a mech suit. The military struggle and the story is very interesting and the action scenes are very satisfying and enjoyable. The only downside: has only thirty chapters.
The main character is bamf incarnate, and the combat setting is awesome. Also you can tell the author is a HUUUUGGE warbuff, if you actually read the few pages at the end of a chap towards the beginning you get overloaded with semi-realistic details.... almost feels like its a summary for a real war, which makes the read much more interesting... I usually prefer comedies but this is so awesome it doesn't even need it to keep my attention. Mecha war done right 9.5/10
this manga depict your boyish imaginative hero: unequally strong, supported by such sophisticated and deadly technology, respected by all, and feared by its enemies. ah, don't forget, each member of your hero's group can battle off enemy's army by himself. what a bomb!
what i really like about this manga is, the mangaka pay attention to the logic of the story. he thoroughly thought up the whole setting, the reason behind technology, the cause of the hero's badassery, the succession of historical events, and sometimes, the strategy being deployed by each faction. those, however, won't be apparent before certain number of volumes. keep on reading, and you will find the red thread connecting all the elements of this manga. it just a pity i don't like mecha.
This thing is awesomely epic man.....
The war is so detailed and it's even given it's own history, not just the war span 3 years or sumthin, this manga elaborate each event and even with chronological table. Like on January 5th 179 Dragonov bombed Solgrenne, Regium take over Nelfa etc etc, which u might think not important as the series start when the war is over but as the manga progress past events also re-experienced, personally I like the past events better
Anyway, this manga is so realistic, and all technology here is very plausible to be or has been invented in this world.
And don't forget the awesome SAA

and it's back, gentlemen!
This manga is, in a word, Epic. The sheer levels of -badassery- in this manga will blow your mind: all over the pavement. I had to make up a word just to express how awesome this manga is.
This is a must-read for any:
- action manga fan,
- mecha fan,
- war manga fan,
- man,
- woman,
- child.
Maybe not the last two... depends how sensitive you are about that sort of thing.
Genocide is one BAMF.
PEOPLE ARE KILLED AND YOU WILL ENJOY IT.

A bit unreal, but that's what it's meant to be, right? I love it. The characters, the story, everything. Doesn't get a 10 because I think some character developement could be better, but a 9 isn't bad. 🙂
the first chapter i read ages ago, and i thought it seemed boring, the artwork seemed scrappy, i had no intention of carrying on with it.
Months passed and it gathered proverbial dust on my harddrive.
Then i forget what it was about etc. open it up and pick a random chapter midway through... and wow. Completely enthralled by it.
Main character is so bad ass it's scary. Not going to go out and out and rave about it, because of how disinterested i was in it initially. But what i will say is if anyone else is like me and dismisses it rather abruptly, then i recommend to perservere just a little longer and see if it can't win you over 🙂
