This is a story set in a world where god's power manifest yet remain cruelly limited, subject to the will of society, the power structure of the world and the favours of lady luck.
God's blessing may well be a curse for some as quoted from the story, for god fails to understand the will of man, just as man fails to understand the will of god. And perhaps none would understand this better than our protagonist Sion, who finds himself in the body of the perpertrator that led to his demise, Siennas.
Although Sion is undoubtedly the true Holy King even in his previous life, his weak standing as an orphan with no power, his gentle temperament and his kindnesss, were all qualities that placed him at a disadvantage in a society where aristocratic power runs the show.
It is through the suffering he has endured in his previous life that he becomes the Sion he is now, the one who can make calculations to balance the powers in the nation, yet remain sympathetic and understand that the peace he resides with now was built upon the sacrifices of others.
I am so glad I was able to find this story so late into the development since that gave me an opportunity to binge and see how Sion grows as a character, especially since each chapter of this manhwa was so short.
I especially love the art work in each chapter and how the relationship between the two leads builds up. It's truly a slowburn since both characters while clearly in love still have things they are unwilling to talk through with each other, especially because each of them have their own plans and motives.
I look forward to finishing this series and rereading it again. PS maybe don't read this on a mobile phone since the words can be very very small.
