Description
From Crunchyroll:
How far would you go for true love?
All his friends said he was just being "stupid" and "delusional," but Haruto couldn't give up on her. Yuzuki, the girl who showed up on his doorstep one day, stole his heart the next and then left just as abruptly as she arrived. With the faint hope of rekindling the romance they'd shared, Haruto decides to pursue her, moving away from the rural outskirts of Hiroshima to the big city of Tokyo.

The setting is based on the author´s hometown.

I really don't get what's Haruto thingking :-|
Oh yeah after some chapters that eba return, he fall for her so quickly. Then what's his feelings for Asuka :-| ? Even though some moment I saw the honest when he said "I love you" to asuka, but all those things ismeaningless after eba's back 8-}
Poor Asuka, she already try her best to get him :-<
Before Tokyo arc, it was a great manga for me, but now just a waste of time manga :-<

I truly believe that you have to read the manga to make yourself an opinion, and then say that is good or not.

dont waste your time reading the comments. Just read the description of the manga and then decide if you want to read it or not.

Should've ended after the first arc...

Just like his other works coughSuzukacough, another case of milking the cash cow. A prime example of the biggest problem plaguing the manga industry, authors dragging out a successful project ruining it in the process. I guess they have their reasons but how can you respect yourself as an artist afterwards is something I'll never understand.

This story should've ended after the first arc ended, up until that point it was frustrating at times but still readable. At that point the turn the story took was something the cheesiest soap opera writer would have too much self-respect to even think about. Bottom line, save yourself the pain and skip this.

Decent but typical shounen romance.

Seo Kouji is a solid artist so I won't comment any further on the art quality other than to say that it definitely sells the series. The story of KimiMachi is pretty standard for shounen, and very similar to the author's other series. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing within the context, but you have to wonder how much longer he will continue to milk it. Needless to say that the series contains all your usual tsukkomi gag humor and fanservice because it's serialized in a shounen magazine. Deal with it, or not.

Basically, as with many manga series, you pretty much know exactly who the protagonist will eventually end up with because he/she's on the cover of nearly every book and chapter whether the focus is on that character or not. So what determines the quality of the series is all the stuff that happens along the way. Seo's stories involve a good number of twists and turns, suspense, semi-believable relationships, a well fleshed-out cast, and a long time span allowing for adequate character development. But again, any dramatic tension or mystery is tempered by the fact that you know exactly how things will end in the long run. (true enough, you can't easily 'turn off' your sentiments towards the first person you have genuine feelings for)

It's why I still read the series, but honestly, it's beginning to get a little old.

~~Hurry up and Get together YUZUKI X HARUTO~~

I am very very annoyed at this series. It is so obvious that Haruto is going to end up with Eba Yuzuki at the end, but seriously, why do the couple has to go through so much trouble to get together!confused

I mean they both like each other from the start and their feelings never changed, but because of their friend's death, the result is that they can't be togetherconfused?? It really doesn't make sense!!

Mishima Asuka is obviously going to break up with Haruto later during the series, and Haruto is going to get back with Yuzuki, but I just feel pissed off at reading this..........

I under stand you need some drama for romance manga to work but the fact that Haruto is basically dating Asuka without any REAL feelings for Asuka (ie. dating Asuka because Haruto wants to forget about Yuzuki) is just horrible........and is not a good way to make a romance story....

In constrast to the series Suzuka: In Suzuka, Yamato actually likes and have feelings for Honoka when he is dating her, even though eventually he breaks up with her and started going out with Suzuka, But in the case of Kimi no Iru Machi, Haruto never has any feelings for Asuka, but is dating her because he wants to forget about Yuzuki.

Even though I absolutely hates it how Yuzuki dumps Haruto like that, but I still love Yuzuki and still root for and have been waiting for the time they get back together!

I really hope they will get back together very soon so that we can have some chapters about them going on dates and have fun.

Note: the chapters about Haruto and Asuka is just absolute junk! which I think should be skipped by the readers.

BTW: to all the readers currently following this manga, the story is getting better because Haruto and Yuzuki just became friends again at chapter 130, which means that the long long long awaited drama between Haruto, Yuzuki and Asuka is set to explode.

----------Even though I said all this, I still absolutely recommend this manga to all ppl who like romance manga because the Hiroshima Arc (ie. the Pre-Tokyo Arc) is absolutely awesome!!!!~~~

Worst romance story ever.At the beginning of the Tokyo arc and thereafter this manga went on and on downhill. The mangaka doesn't even know what he writes anymore and the pages consist of huge panels so as to focus less and less on the story and draw more(where he is clearly better). What @shojojunkie said is unfortunately the sad truth.

If you're a would-be mangaka and you want to find out what happens when you run out of ideas, you forget your storyboard somewhere, and you let the fans drive your decisions, this manga is for you.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Need to sell a pairing? Check out which is more popular among fans and break-up relationships like they never mattered to the hero.
Need an emotional rollercoaster to get the fans crying? Kill a rival character like it's nothing special.

This is a shonen that touches on all levels of bad after the first few volumes. Save your money for something else.

Kimi no Iru Machi is one of the best manga I´ve ever read. I first thought a romance manga would be annoying because it´s nothing I would normaly read. The story couse is really surprising because you never know what will happen next or how the problems are going to be solved. The solution is often really simple. That´s just something that amazes you.

If you are searching for something not ordinary and something that is able to keep the tension till the last chapter then Kimi no Iru Machi is your right choice,

Don't even know why I continue to read any of his works. The story is the same as Suzuka which was awful and this guy has a hard on for Mary Sue heroines which you know the main character is gonna end up with after he tramples over every other girl in the manga. And that's the story with this piece of work as well.
