Description

Rakan lives alone, and the plants in his garden grow so thick and fast that it seems like a jungle. One day a man, holding a gun made of wood, falls right down into his garden. I read Koori no Mamono no Monogatari (well, as many volumes as I could get my hands on) and I loved it all - the story, the art, the characters, so I decided to give this one a try. It has a different feel to it, but, once again, I loved it all. I reccomend!

One of my top shonen-ai mangas, i really wasn't planning reading 8 volume at once since its already 12 am in the morning. But i read all 8 volumes at once and slept 6 am lol. The plot and the art was fantastic, characters have their own unique personality. I mean even if you don't like shonen ai, you'll like this. I really hated that it got licensed thats why SH drop it =( Tokyo pop is also really slow =/ Highly recommended and a must read!!

Just like others have said before me, this series is definitely worth the read. The part about it not deserving the "shounen-ai" tag, however, is a lie in my eyes. It is hinted within the very first pages of the story and continues to develop afterward.

Awesome Shounen-ai(ish) manga

Feels like shounen-ai, but more of a story of about pretty guys on a quest.

There is a a point where there is a lot of character introductory and it gets a bit of time (and rereading for me) to know who's who. I bought this manga 'cause I love Sugiura-sensei is one of my favorite mangaka, but dammit, TokyoPop is not doing manga business anymore and doesn't look like any other manga licensing companies are going to pick this up. -___-#

So if you want fantasy storyplot with all-guys characters, this is for you. But if you don't like reading unfinished translated work, better stop before you get hooked int by Sugiura-sensei's magical wonder.

That latest chapter (ch 68) had such a boss fight feel to it, just when you think you've beat 'em, along comes the final boss haha.... Seriously though, this manga has me hooked. I usually prefer my 'BL' manga to be yaoi rather then shonen-ai, however I have completely gotten hooked on the cute and hilarious flirting. I Adore all the characters! They all have personality and depth. Totally likable..... And let's not forget the abundance of bishonen eye-candy! <3 - hot boys and shipping aside, this manga also has an amazing storyline and really nice art. So pretty /(o)/ <3 I totally recommend everyone reads this whether you like BL or not (it doesn't play too big of a role)... 10/10 .... Can't wait for next chapter to be scanlated!

at first this manga reminded me of 'fushigi yugi' (this manga has a female lead & her best friend was her enemy) and kyo kara maoh (the naivety and kindness of the lead character). All of them had the concept of 'another world'..

but silver diamond, although the story is simple (making the world green & try to stop the enemies from destroying the world) lead to a story of its own, having the unique factor that the 'prince'/savior grows plants, which made it more interesting.

i love the art, the story, the great mix of characters, even the times that chigusa will hug anyone who hugs rakan. gosh. a group of bishies travelling. i think i totally fell for it.

i really hope i can finish reading this (i'm at volume 14). i can't find it in any stores or online.. 🙁

Truthfully, I haven't found better since I read this.
On the downside, there isn't much BL-ness, but its all good. Everything else makes up for that.
Seriously, I can't reccommend anything better than Silver Diamond. The end. 🙂

It wasn't a mistake to pick up this manga and enjoy it over a cup of tea after all. The storyline is actually very interesting and I love the plot twist, especially during the climax. It was truly unexpected. Some of the parts is a bit complicated and I had to re-read it like, two to three times, stopping and thinking of the story. The characters are all equally unique, whether it's the protagonist or the antagonist, they all have backstories to tell. I love the intensity of the plot and the artwork is not bad, good enough for you to read the whole manga at ease. (I think the art style kinda reminds me of Odagiri Hotaru's work tho.)

So...it's not really dropped is it? Since Vol. 9 just came out spring of this year, so Vol. 10, maybe soon? Just checking, because then I'll study for exams and wait breathlessly for the English volumes to come out instead of religiously learning Japanese just for this series xD

Good read that could’ve been better

This is a solid 7/10 manga.
This manga tries to tackle a very big range of themes but rarely successes at exploring a theme before jumping to the one after it. The story is pretty nice but there is a part of the way it was told that made me uncomfortable, the author keeps jumping from an event to other without a proper transition, she omits some important transitions but sometimes is very repetitive with words and has to narrate everything that's happening in thoughts bubbles, which is quite very painful to read, some part were outright strange like when

Rakan realized he's a puppet way too late even though Chigusa already told him that his "circuit" (circuits are probably the funniest thing that happened in this manga) is the same as Chigusa's, thus deducing he's a puppet as well doesn't really need a brain.

I quite liked Narushige, his inner conflict was brilliantly written, I love this sort of stories

however is saddens me that his mother was made into a good character at the end.

In fact, the problem with this manga that it doesn't stir readers when bad things happen because the author never tried in this manga to betray her reader's expectations, when a character dies, they get brought back to life, if they're gravely hurt they heal in a way or another, when they stray they return to the right path. You always expect things to end on a good note. This is a very common in manga, I personally don't like knowing beforehand that everything will be alright at the end.

Well but at the end I did enjoy this and its attempt at tackling several intresting themes, thus 7/10 is my rating even though this manga is definelty not very well written.
