Description
Eiko and her best friend Moe couldn't be more different: Eiko is a shy, average-looking girl while Moe is beautiful and envied by everyone at their high school. Though their personalities are total opposites, the bond between them is incredibly strong. Moe might have an endless supply of suitors, but when it comes to actually dating them, she has a condition: her boyfriend must value Eiko more than he does Moe. No one has yet been able to meet her condition—not until a boy named Tsuchida appears, at least. What will Eiko do when her relationship with her best friend begins to change?

Moe is kind of an annoying, condescending, and controlling friend, lol. Honestly, I'd be so insulted if a friend was like this toward me. Like, am I that must of a "plain Jane" loser?
I think this would have been more compelling as a intense friendship to yuri/GL-kind of story.

What Every Teenage Girl Needs To See

Let me just first say that this is something every teenage girl entering High School needs to read. The fact that friendship came first between both girls with something over topic that's not written as eloquently as it is here. The fact that spans total of a high school life three chapters makes it that much more of a unicorn compared to other manga. This was something that I read and my teenage heart immediately cried tears of joy while squealing at the same time because that is just how realistic this friendship between two girls it's being put into words and drawings. This has to be one of my all-time favorite even though it's only three chapters which is usually a deal-breaker because I rarely rate anything that doesn't have at least 15 chapters. I recommend all girls get this try but most definitely teenage girls who needs to understand that friendship is something that all girls need and love comes after. Oh, and chicks before dicks!!!! Sisters before misters!

I enjoy it

Okay... So there friendship can be view as creepy, and it certainly can be, but I like it. BUT if this is real life, Moe is a very manipulated and controlling girl... Don't think too much and just enjoy the story

ive never hated a character as much as i do in this manga. that doesnt necessarily mean the manga is bad. but i will also say it seems like the author doesnt think this character is absolutely aggravating as she never has any real change in her personality rather its the men who have to change. and also i hate and i mean haaaaate the stereotyper where the man is allllllllways chasing the woman. and in this manga its taking that stereotype and exagerating it to extreme proportions. jesus i hate that character... btw how does this have an 8.9 lol

"worst Friendship ever"

The storyline was short and disappointing at the same time, I see what they trying of how best friends should look out for each other and have a strong bond that's cool and all but it's how it is done in the end. In this case it fails poorly.
This due to Moe, very obnoxious, unreasonable and a selfish jerk, she's too clingy with her friend I assume due to her never having a a friend before.
The friendship feels so forced, makes me feel a bit cynical and it's mean spirited
Also Moe is a hypocrite, who is overbearing I don't blame guys for quitting to date her, I understand saying you have to know and like Moe's best friend Eiko, but Moe practically mentions to the guys that he has to like eiko more than her, which doesn't make any STINKIN sense, since the guy wants to date Moe,
just cause you like someone more than the other doesn't mean you'll hate them. You can be kind to both people and still go out. If you are saying you have to put priority on your lovers best friend over her, that's implying you have to like the best friend more than lover, making the relationship hallow and unjust.
Also the extra story was enjoyable, making it passable
In conclusion the friendship is messed up due to Moe excessive use of Eiko as an excuse to not date guys and it's clear she doesn't want Eiko to have a boyfriend because she'll be alone without her, she only thinks about her self instant gratification
As what a man would say worst friendship ever.
PS I wish I never had a friendship as cynical as this

It has concepts that aren't seen much in shoujo manga. There are girl friendships in shoujo but this kind of takes it to the extreme. I also liked it for deviating from the standard pretty girl. Very few shoujo seem real to me because of the fact that everyone is good looking. I liked this one so much that I with it had at least another 20 - 30 chapters. Short and sweet.

Way to exaggerated.

For mang about beauty of the true frendship, its surprisingly mean-spirited. Moe is obsessed with Eiko, and Eiko is pushover for Moe. It's not friendship, it unhealthy addiction!
Moe is also cruel. She uses Eiko as the excuse to ditch the boys who like her, treating them like garbage. Insted of, i don't know - telling them she's not interested? For such 'foul-mouthed and rude' girl she's typicall 'i won't tell you what i think!' shoujo stereotype.
Eiko is typicall pushover. She let's her fiend use her and treat her like a convinient exuce to ditch another boy. She's manipulated, really cruelly when we're at it, by Moe: who would not blame themselves after hearing situation from first story?
The way friendhips is shown here it's just unhealthly.
The boys are done better, but not that much. One is pure perfection cut-out from Book of Shojo Stereotypes, and the other is the opposite cut-out. They both act stupid, but at least its nothing too bad, and the latter one even have some believable reasoning in his little grudge against Eiko.
Bonus story is only good thing here, because at least when the character acts stupid/clingly/unhealthy it IS said in the story instead of showing it as normality.
Overall, it's sad that a really nice art is waste don such stupid story. And it's frightening than anyone would think that relationship in this story is anything even remotely close to normal.

I sort of see what people mean when they say that Moe's and Eiko's relationship is creepy and too much, but I really cannot agree with that.
The manga is very deep, it looks at many important aspects of life. Finding a great friend like that is hard and you will definitely cherish that friend very much. Since the characters are on two extremes of a spectrum it is generally not really possible to compare the manga to real life.
Also, from the background stories their close bond makes perfect sense and they are not at all too close and creepy, there is nothing lesbian going on. I mean I don't know how many times me and my best friends propose to each other or tell each other that it would be awesome if one of us could be a guy because then we would totally go out. It's a joke in a sense, but in another sense we mean it. We don't have romantic feelings but we really love each other and each others company, so I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with them!
Some people say it doesn't make sense that Moe tells the guys who ask her out to also take care of Eiko, but it totally does. Imagine yourself in her shoes, being pretty to the point where practically every guy who sees you ask you out. How are you supposed to tell who actually cares about you, and who just likes your looks? Somebody who was willing to also be there for Eiko would be way more likely to be a good guy who actually cares about you. I wouldn't set this criteria myself, but if I was in Moe's situation I most probably would have.
Plus, she does point out that she would only settle for a guy who is just as sweet and caring as Eiko. I don't find that weird at all, I often compare my closest and bestest of friends to new people I meet, and I would not settle for a boyfriend who was less of a great person than they are. He doesn't have to be the same of course, but I would have to feel just as close to and like him just as much at least, otherwise it's a no no.
Lastly, it is not strange that Moe gets angry at Tsuchida and dumps him that time. He was in the wrong in making a move at her when she was being worried about Eiko. It might have been a bit farfetched from her side, but she still barely knew him, and that made his comments not acceptable. Had he cared enough about Moe he should have been able to see her feelings and known that that was not the right moment. However, he seemed like a really nice guy after all, and he did learn his lesson and seem to take to heart what Moe had said, so I think he sorta deserves a second chance. Especially since he was so down during the rest of the manga, that was probably one of the most painful things throughout the manga, because he never really seemed happy again. Also, I think they would probably make a good couple. Plus, he probably has a bigger chance now actually when his best friend is dating Moe's best friend, so I'll hold my fingers crossed!
Of course Eiko's little brother is a pretty great guy too ^^
I wish it could have been a tinsy bit longer though, since I really would have loved to see Moe find someone as well! ^^
