"The art is... decent, and its interesting. But i do still think the anime is better. Will read actual Aria next."

I can't really say much about Aqua. There are no intricating plot, no disastrous events, no saving the world action, no war, only peaceful life on a terraformed planet called Aqua. But it's enjoyable in it's simplicity.
This series is great because it delivers stories about life itself. It's a story about friendship, about dreams, and about relationship between people. The pace was slow yet steady. It let me to think about my life while enjoying the great view of Aqua.
For you who only know 'Aqua' from the anime, this manga contains the events that lead to those in Aria. If you enjoy Aria, you will also love this.

I remember really loving its slowpace and calm setting and story. (Same for Aria)
It's a nice read if you want to calm down. It gives you the feeling that life is nice.
I would recomend it to read little by little when you have the time. Because of it's episodic nature.

There are just a few things to mention about "Aqua" ... The manga on the whole - absolutely splendid. Nice drawings, slice of life story is top-notch, not too text-heavy. I can give a recommendation for everyone.

It's hard not to feel sleepy after reading this. Everything about it is calm, relaxing, and tranquil... tranquil like resting in the shade of a hot summer day. Time flows on, not in a bad way though, and you get to enjoy the little things as the story slowly unfolds.

The ending felt incomplete, but then Aria completes it and completes it in a way that makes it a classic for me. This Prequel to one of my highest rated manga is good.
Yes, Aria is better, but this is great too
Man... I can't stop smiling ^____^

But not nearly as nice as Aria.
Aria has its weaknesses. It can be corny, the human anatomy is often fairly bad, and it slips into moe just a little too often.
Aqua has all those things, but multiplied many times.
It's a lovely little series, but I'm glad Amano improved in time for Aria.

A nice and calming manga.
Nice characters.
Doesn't have much of a plot/story (nothing really *BIG* happens) but it adds to the charm. This is sweet manga.
I recommend it esp. to people who want a change of pace in their read.

I had a feeling of "not quite there yet" while reading it.
Aqua is very peacfull, and relaxing. That's what finally drew me in to read it.
The art is very nice as well, but sometimes looks a little awkwards with hands and such.
The scenes that greatly excited the characters, didn't have the same effect on me, and were mostly just pretty.
The characters are simple and sweet.
I liked aqua, but I do hope Aria would give a better emotion transmiting via landscapes.
All in all, I enjoyed it^^
