According to mermaid prophecy, Xi Wu is destined to marry Xing Chen, the human fashion designer with the tear box that symbolizes their union. But the feisty mermaid is determined to break free of that prophecy and take control of her life. Using the scale gauze that lets her fins turn into legs, she breaks into Xing Chen's home on Moon Dust Island to destroy the tear box. Unfortunately, the box's magic ends up freeing the ominous magical creatures sealed within his dresses! With her own magic depleted, Xi Wu has no choice but to stay on the island for the time being.
