The drama is entertaining (if you get past the whole plastic surgery at the start), the plot has it's fun and good parts. The core of the characters are oddly interesting. Their pasts even interest me. I wish I believed the main love story though... but I just don't. I don't understand their interest/love for each other. The side characters I get (that's a possession type love), but the main couple? How/why did they fall in love? Why do they crave each other so? It's just not believable to me.
And on a complete side note, this manga has a lot of men going down on women (sexually... obviously), which for the feeling the mangaka wants you to emote, it doesn't always make sense why the man would go down on the woman. On that point the sex scenes are very... boring; which for me is: they don't show a lot, and every sex scene feels the same, even the (sorta) rape scenes.
I dislike the ending in general. Was wanting a bit more realistic drama, rather than a "she can change, if we just talk to her" type drama... In general the amount of changing that goes down by just having a heart-to-heart with Bronte is silly. Those type of high class individuals portrayed in this manga shouldn't be so easy to change with just a few heartfelt words by Bronte "the one who sees only good in people" (or so they would have you believe). I feel like her character could have been shown in such a better way. She is just so... boring! The plot is only good because of the side characters, not the lead.
I have one question that I really wanted answered that is never answered and it's:
What is Mars' real first name? We are told many times that he picked the name Mars himself, so why are we never told his birth name? Makes no sense why they didn't put it in there...
All in all it's an entertaining manga but with too many boring or careless choices made by the mangaka. I wouldn't recommend it, but I wouldn't say you shouldn't read it. Considering it's based off a novel, I'd suggest reading the novel and not this manga.
