I really wanted to like this story, in fact I binge read it in an attempt to like it. However, I had started having my doubts around chapter 12 and should have gone with my gut. By the time I got to the end, there still wasn’t any real investment into the characters and they story just ended up coming across as tangential, shallow, and long winded in an attempt to provide depth to them. Point being, if you’re noticing a lack of attachment around chapter 10, you likely aren’t going to like the rest of the story, plus will have wasted your time reading 82 chapters for a meh ending.

P.S. also there needs to be a TW for SA and incest.

The only reason this story isn’t a 10 for me is because over the duration of the entire storyline it was hard to keep track of the similar names and faces plus when this was actively being released the pacing of the story was really slow….

Don’t come here expecting a fluffy love story or a relaxing read. This story is tragic and complex in a way that’s palatable for me because I can still detach since there is a supernatural component. I think what I love most how different the art is and how many years into the future we get to see the main character. Is this is a sad ending…well it’s not necessarily happy one either you’ll have to make the decision for yourself but I’ll say that’s part of what makes this story a good one.

Pacing is very slow so I had to actually wait until the story was done I couldn’t get it out of my head and I came back over a year later to read it…that’s how good it is…and I’m happy I did. Definitely a great binge read because there is no pacing issue plus it makes it slightly easier to keep track of the names and faces all those still hard…

A true masterpiece at the level of X1999 and the likes. The whole world is well built with intertwined story lines. Good character development.
It's heart breaking at some point but not a sad ending imo.
Art is fine and I like the red-and-black tone everywhere it really adds effect to the dark and tragic development.

... and so much pain.

The end is far from upbeat, but it won't drag you down either.
But before you get to the end? All bets are off.

The author is very dedicated to the world building and the art lends a lot to the air of the story. It is very much a tragedy like it says so don't get angry if you don't get the happy ending you wanted for any faves you end up having in this story. Some characters are hard to remember and names are reused often and the characters are drawn much too similar, but it doesn't take away from the well-done complexity of the overall story which gives it good re-read value.

It’s like watching a train-wreck and you can’t look away.
