For everyone saying the male lead is too emotionless and there's no character development. I suggest you read the light novel because there's a total of 33 books as to which was translated to English. (you can try to search it on google) It's just too sad that the anime as well as the manga didn't go beyond what is on the light novel😊 In the novel, you can clearly see how much Edgar cares for Lydia in way that he'll marry her for love. There's much more to see on their relationship that wasn't depicted both on manga and anime which is kind of frustrating.

The anime didn't do the light novel justice IMO. Would really be good if there's a reboot (manifesting for that). The novel was well-written and it's one my favourite because there's a mix of angst, action, fantasy and mystery). Hands down to the magnificent author,Mizue Tani🤩🥰

The male lead was too emotionless the whole time that it was just too painful to read. The girl that he announced as one he loved being in trouble because of his own schemes, and making her as bait, yet having still the same poker faced expression on was just too disturbing. And whatnot with the girl, I liked her at the beginning, but with how she was just being used all the time, and forgiving the earl so easily like that was just too shallow, it's a bit abusive.

While the "fairy doctor" might make you hesitate, I recommend you to try the first two chapters.
The story is well develop so far, the characters are the strong point in this history. The MC is not complety annoying. Im really surprise by the male characters: He is not sweet, he doesn't blush, he doesn't hesitate, he is not your typical male character with no flaws, with the strogest morals. He has his own purposes, seems selfish, yet he has certain charm. I really like him!

Here, you have your playboy womanizer "prince-sama" who woos the unlady-like, inexperienced, countryside girl.....typical. And of course the manga starts off with a relationship between him and a beautiful woman and thus our country bumpkin pumpkin gets jealous...yippee....

I disagree with some of the below comments - I found the anime to be more enjoyable than the manga, although it's worth looking into both since eventually they cover different novel stories (It would seem). My favorite character is Raven, so naturally I prefer the anime where he had a larger role.

Yeap and the romance department is sadly lacking a bit, but nevertheless it was a fun read, it was captivating from beginning to the end, mostly because this manga has nice art (bious to nice art, sorry). I like Nico a whole lot, so cute~~~ whatever he did end up to be so cute~~~

Omg..... lemme just gush about how hot the man guy is for a while... don't mind me.... I love the cover art btw.... 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
as many have already said, this series features great romance + fantasy elements. I Love It!

Update: Wow I was dumb and bloody thirsty. If you look past the pretty art, there's really not much world building and substance. Skip this one.

This maybe the most substantial comment I've ever write on a manga.

I haven't read the novel yet so, all my comment will just be based on the manga.
It's purely fiction, with all those "fairy doctor" thing, thieves and aristocrats so I had doubts on reading...at first.
I thought it ends in volume 2, however it still extends and focus on Edgar's misery.
This manga never fails my expectation, while reading this I was wishing that it won't step into "cliche" zone...The romance plot is quite vulnerable, it was carefully done not to make Lydia turned into a Tsundere and doesn't made Edgar into a drag.

I understand if the ending or the romance between Edgar and Lydia might be a turn-off to some readers, but do understand how FICTION works.
After all they went through, it's not like things would normally fall back into pieces...it needs time, duhh.But knowing they felt the same way..of course it's an assurance that they do both wanted each other.
Remember. ....too much is boring.

This manga is incredible! Extremely cute and adorable!!! BUT!!!! It ended. I'm not talking about any kind of normal ending. It was as if it was literally cut-off! Unfinished!! SOOO disappointing!!!!!!!!! It had so much potential too!!! It's sad to know that such a good manga was ended like this...When it was still going, it was enjoyable but now, sometimes I feel like it was better to not read such a good manga like this, just to see it end so unfittingly. I know there is a novel but still =TT-TT=
