Edit: the ending broke me, in the bad way. I saw a long time but I was so devasted that I could only do a re-review now. Everything the author build, was throw in theTRASH. i never saw such a disrespect of an author with their story and audience. Do not read, ( only for the smut, which is good) everything else is shit and it's truly sad to see such a beautiful and wonderful story being reduced to nothing. I had inky praises, now, I feel utterly betrayed. Please disregard everything I said bellow.
I didn't expect much from this story, but, oh boy, I was WRONG, AND I'M SO HAPPY for that. First, the story is very mature, the tone and the characters are realistic and act as if it were their age, which is a little rare in the josei genre. Even if it is for a more mature audience, most josei feel like Shoujo, but with smut. Fortunately, this story is not like that and I really appreciate that fact.
The plot is not new, but the development is interesting and well done. The characters are charismatic and FL and ML are a blessing in this world.
The pace is good and conflicts and situations do not drag on very long. As I said before, there is a maturity in this story and the world, which makes the actions of the characters and how they react in conflicts understandable and real.
In the end, smut is just the cherry on top! It is not the main or important for the plot, it is just the characters, making love and showing love or even in some cases, desire and lust. It's how I think, couples have sex and that's it, nothing special, it just happens, and this story shows it, like that, and I really appreciate it.
Now, the aspects:
Art: 9/10
The art is not much different from other webtoons, but it is beautiful! The character designs (mainly Isaac, he is very hot and cute, idk how the artist can do such a feat, please teach me-) And the rest of the scenes are good and well designed.
The story 8/10
The premise is kind of basic, but the mystery of "blood-eating monsters" is kind of exciting. We don't have a lot of information about them yet, but they're basically vampires. Still, I think there's really a lot more to this story that we haven't seen yet.
The conflicts between FL and her horrible husband are interesting and kind of a new approach in this kind of dynamic, I don't remember seeing another story of this genre (webtoons) taking a kind of mature approach to the subject.
Characters: 8.5 / 10
FL, Giselle is so AMAZING! Her dynamics with her husband are so new, because of how she reacts, she is not fragile or weak, but she is passive in her role as wife, which brings an interesting contrast and a new light of "feminine power" that I really I like! She is indeed, very strong and wise.
I can also feel that she is about to start some kind of developmental arc to find true happiness and pursue a life that she really wants to live. She’s also so, again, mature. (I know I’m repeating that a lot, but I really think the characters are smart and believable) How she treats ML, Isaac, how she thinks what’s best for him and not for her, and how she just doesn't accept things without a fight! Really, a true example of kindness without being too naive.
And now, finally, I can't talk about my cinnamon roll with a BIG D. Okay, seriously, the author is horny because, oh, my ... Anyway, I don't usually like this type of ML, naive and kind of sweet. But this one really stole my heart. First of all, his design is so WELL done, me being an artist too, I find it kind of hard to combine sexy and cute, but oh, Isaac is literally the perfect combination of these two traits and it's so good! He's sweet and we can really feel his love for FL, still, he's a little horny and that's kind of cute too, I think...
In terms of personality, I think it is too early to say, he is developing. Only in the most recent chapters has he started to learn new things and expand his horizons, so it's kind of hard to analyze. But I can say that he has a lot of potential, and his mannerism and actions, even in the beginning, are at least enough for me to make me care and sympathize with him. I'm especially excited to see more of his backstory!
Overall: 9/10
The plot has many potentials, and it is already an interesting sight in several clichés. The characters are adorable and mature and have room to grow even more. Smut is not the central thing and just adds some flavor. it's VERY GREAT for a Josei and Smut story and I'm really excited to see what happens next! I recommend, please give it a try.
