<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 (i'm in love)
The main male character Usui Takumi is the love of my life. No matter how unrealistically perfect he is, I won't give up the hopes of one day snatching someone of his level. yes. I will snatch the person!
Anyways, I fell in love with the dynamic between usui and misa from chapter 1. They are both badass, determined, and independent. They have different lives, goals, and dreams. But they come together and work through their various obstacles together without abandoning their own personal dreams and aspirations. And this is what I believe to be a truly healthy relationship between lovers. I have so much respect for these two. They are the perfect tag-team, and complement each other by standing back to back, covering for one another's faults.
Unlike what the unfavorable comments say, the reason I liked this story was BECAUSE there WAS character development. Misa starts out as a stubborn and judgmental demon who hates ALL men, and is eventually* tempered* by Usui's natural calmness. Usui, on the other hand, becomes more passionate than before due to Misa's fiery nature, and finally has something worth fighting for. (being the sad genius that he was, life was pretty boring until Misa came along) Both of them reach a happy medium by the end, and find solace in one another. **They changed themselves into better people! **
Humor was also pretty nicely snugged into the series. I laughed so many times that I've lost count. And gosh, some moments of the series had ME blushing along with the characters. Ha ha.
The art is also gorgeously drawn, and Usui becomes hotter with every new release. (is that even possible?) The ONLY downside of this manga was the side characters. The side characters did not have a chance to develop as much as the main couple did. * Still, a few of them changed a lot and the author never forgot about them!* 🙂 I just wish the manga ended earlier, because the last few chapters actually dragged the series down.
