For as long as we could remember, we have always been together. So it seemed only natural to assume this would last forever... but it might actually be by my fault that it all started to slip away...

...but without crossing the fine line into saccharine. The five stories vary a bit in quality. The eponymous chapters featuring Sho and Taichi were my favorites. Taichi especially makes some really hilarious faces, and the characters engage in bantering dialogue that keeps the story light and funny. It's an angst free, fresh take on childhood friends in love.
I was expecting yaoi or at least shounen ai when I read the Waiting for Winter and The Lingering Scent of a Rainbow chapters, so I was a little let down at first. They're the mildest shounen ai ever, but the completely unique stories captured me in the end.
Overall, the art quality is high throughout (as expected from this mangaka), and the stories are light, happy, and funny. If that's your thing, you've really gotta read Sugar Milk.
WOW Never did i expect to like this at all, It's even on my On Hold list. The stories have soo much potential that i want more!!! My favorite story was the childhood friends with unrequited love, this has been done for a while now yet I don't feel i read it before. I really hope the mangaka would make a sequels for these stories. I really recommend it!!
Once in a while I get to read an amazing manga that just leaves me with a roller-coaster of emotions, making me smile idiotically one moment and then the next, finding my eyes tearing up even before I realize it. It’s a blissful experience that makes me reread the story time and time again. And yeah, i'm talking about this manga, Sugar Milk (oddly cute title for an amazing manga ^^).
It also helps that the artwork of this manga is really nice and very modern. The characters look gorgeous, fresh-looking and stylish. I fell in love with the various expressions of these two as the story unfolded. Speaking of the plot, I admit it isn’t really something new: childhood friends loved each other for a long time, though unbeknownst to them. What I admire though was the execution of the plot. The author played well with the transition of scenes, and the dialogues were just too romantic, but not too cheesy. Ok maybe a bit cheesy but it’s the kind of cheesiness that you just love too see. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Surprise, surprise. It's amazing. 😀 I'm telling you all, if the scanlation group 'vices & devices' scans it, it's gotta be amazing! This was no exception!
