Funny for a while

reviewed @ch20 (which is more than 30 chapters of colourised version)
So, especially for the first half of what I read, the female is really quite funny. She's cute and wholesome and just wants to have fun and literally meets every adversity with a smile if not outright laughs at it. she's got a great deal of common sense, too.

The problem with this story is its male lead. He's just stupid as fuck. I mean, really, it's infuriating how much of a creep and stupid he is. Especially as he's supposed to be head of the nation's intelligence network (then again, he obviously got it cos he's a Duke rather due to a meritocracy).

It's also frankly annoying that the female lead does hold the idiot ball at one point and doesn't push for more advantages and security

when they change the contract. Like it has her obligated to do more with literally no changes in compensations. At the very least she should have refused social excursions being mandatory or asked for butt-load of more compensation so she's secure post-divorce. Or put in the contract that she can't be touched by him or something

It's also really disappointing that

it looks like the duke IS the main love interest..he's such a creep

He's changed once, he'll probably change again. It's not quite likely to happen in the story... but he's just so cringy. I really hoped she wouldn't actually end up having feelings for him even a little. But now that she does, it's no longer a good story. She'd been better off without him.

Was good until male lead stating liking the protagonist. My blood was actually boiling reading this. male lead doesn't deserve protag. was good, now bad. Hopefully it gets better.

Refreshing female lead

The art is adorable, the slice of life story is relaxing, and most of all the female lead is awesome!!

She’s not pre-occupied with love or men at all, very practical, and a great duchess to her household. The people who work there are the side characters, and it’s great seeing their interactions with the female lead. The relationship she has with them is so wholesome, and how they always run interference for her is funny and amusing.

This is pretty wholesome and cute throughout, really.

The only con is the male lead. At first who could care less about him, he was more of an antagonist than anything. Now that he’s changed his tune and fallen for her though… He’s like a puppy, doing his best and slowly learning but still doing more harm than good. Seeing him still not understand Viola nor her values and still act like a child, to her detriment, is a bit difficult. Here’s hoping he learns some more and does change to a thoughtful male lead that’s actually attractive.

As a note: Seems like there are two versions of this manga - a webtoon strip version and a normal manga version. I definitely like the art and overall layout of the normal manga version much more.
