Another one of those... BUT read it because of the male lead.

At the beginning you will be fooled, so-take-my-WARNING, if you want to try reading it anyways for the first chapters and think this: "oh, such a straightforward girl, may be this will not turn into your typical shoujo where she has no defense and is a kiss bag for almost every male that has feelings for her and she ends up doubting her own feelings besides not thinking the consequences her actions may bring" kind of story. But NO! Dont be fooled, this is THAT type of story. Go read something else if you didnt like my half-rant half-summary. If you still think you want to read it, then keep reading my commentary so you make really sure you wont end up disappointed.
First, the best thing about this manga, the male lead. This girl doesnt deserve the main guy, not even in her dreams. The male lead may have his issues but he is pretty decent when compared to other shoujo's male leads, actually, this is the first time that the male lead is not an utter moron and has some dignity, well,he presents his dignity in a way too understanding about his girlfriend's position, specially with situations that any other guy would end up braking up with his girlfriend at the spot regardless of the reasons, I do find it pretty awesome in a shoujo male character, pretty level headed and mature, even for someone with supposedly ZERO experience with women in his adolescence. And, at the end, the main guy ALWAYS ends up clearing up her fuck ups, while trying to understand her or listening to her position, he even brings down his personal issues to be with her while improving himself FOR her... I'm a guy myself, and without doubt I totally declare this, one of the reasons I read this manga till the end was because of Yasuaki, best shoujo male lead I've seen so far.
Now the lead girl. She doesnt have any brains to think about the consequences of her actions, that's another typical characteristic of shoujo girls who get tossed around by any guy that comes for a taste (yes, a taste). Most of the issues that happen between her and the main guy are because she doesn't think what she is doing will bring trouble to someone else or even herself. She barely tries to understand her boyfriend, just a couple of times I thought she was awesome but that didnt last long. She complains that her boyfriend doesn't do stuff but, a lot of times the guy did do it, I dont know if this was a miss from the mangaka or the girl is intended to be a complete and hopeless moron, even so, that was a total fail.
So, after all that, the same questions I've put in other shoujo manga comments arises, do girls really dig this shit?
Reasons por points:
+3: Refreshing(ly cheesy xD) and imposing male lead.
+1: Yoshitomo, brilliant side character.
-1: Girlfriend barely improves
-3: The story repeats the same situations to create issues.
-2: No female challenger came to really test Hanabi's feelings.
I'm gonna go read a shoujo manga where the female lead does have a brain.

The story
Hanabi, the heroine went to an all girls school and the school is merging with all boys school at the beginning. But it seemed that the most important part of the story is her hair. At least to me. She had quite untidy hair, but to make it a joke 50 times is a failure humor. So the school merge, and she somehow ends to be in the student council. This was because she is "immune" to handsome guys.
Then she begins to date Yasu, who is in the student council too. I believe it was in the first volume. And after that it's a story of their relationship. It had many situations that lasted for few pages. eg.: meeting his father, her father, kissing somebody else.... it always lasted 5-10 pages and was never really deep. I disliked their relationship. They never understood each other. He would forgive her cheating, but not lying and she never trusted him. My opinion.
Although it is considered a harem manga, I would say it had just a tiny love triangle when her childhood friend returned. He said he loved her and she was angry at Yasu that time. But could you believe, she chose him over Yasu? No? Well she did. What a b*tch. She stayed with Yasu only cause he was injured. ... The Story is very predictable.
Art
Art is okay, I really liked how her hair was drawn. Also, sometimes it was so cute you could forget all the story. Boys are drawn a bit worse, but cute too somehow. Good proportioned bodies and good designed clothes. But still only average shoujo like. Also, the faces were always the same and no fantasy was put into it. The characters had always the same face, especially guys.
Characters
The heroine, Hanabi was no crybaby and was strong, but she was stupid. She considered herself a good person (the mangaka maybe too), but she was kind of evil. She never trusted her boyfriend even when he never failed her. In others shoujos this is reverse. She goes around helping others not thinking it might hurt him. She even wanted to dump him only because there was this childhood friend who said he loved her. Not likeable character, but if you think of other shoujo heroines, she wasn't half bad. Sadly.
Yasu is one perfect bishie, but there is this one thing that makes him unique. He fears girls. haha. Surprisingly he isn't afraid of Hanabi. Which kind of makes him even more perfect. I don't know anything about his character actually. He just was there. Sometimes jealous, sometimes mean, sometimes embarrassed....
Then there are two other boys from student council: Tokihisa and Yoshitomo. Yoshitomo is this proud, silent and nice kind of boy that you don't want to make your enemy. Tokihisa is livelier, also aggresiv and a bit stupid.
No character development detected, maybe only Yasu's fear of girl gets cured by the time.
Enjoyment
Well... I wouldn't read it again because it was boring. But still, quite readable for the first time. I liked that the heroine was unique although that might be because of her stupidity and talent for embarrassing herself. Not my kind of manga but sometimes it was funny. It could be shorter. very forgettable.

I like this a lot, there was even a few times where I took a minute break because I was laughing so much.
However there were times that the female lead annoyed me.
Also the art bothered me from time to time, can't explain what about it did though.
Worth the read, a decent ending. I would recommend this, however due to some things I can't give this a higher rating.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Ex. when Take when introduced she was flip flopping on her feelings and decided 'oh, well your never kind to me so I choose the other guy' (when in fact he has been. but she must of forgotten due to reason events or something. Those things really irk me. Also the type to come up with illogical ideas when the answer is very clearly something else.

Hanabi may be naive and a bit silly, but she's strong and her hearts in the right place. (Most of the time)
She is a cute protagonist and although I wanted to slap her sometimes, I still like her in the end.
As for Yasuaki, I bloody love him. Handsome, honest, smart, but not in a too perfect or stuck-up manner. He is realistic (sort of) and a great male lead.
I love the flow of the story, I like how they became a couple early on. (Nowadays most characters don't become a couple until the bloody end of the story!) It is highly amusing, touching, frustrating and romantic. I think it plays on all the emotions necessary to be dubbed a pretty good manga.
I enjoyed it. I get that some people found Hanabi too frustrating to tolerate, but she wasn't that bad. Not compared to some of these emotionally weak heroines we get nowadays. Anywho, give the story a shot. If you aren't sold by the first chapter it might not be for you.

..is what hanabi has. Although she might be strong "physically" sometimes, but at times, she's so...irritating and dumb. Like the part where her childhood friend appeared. "Guys should not be jealous"? wth? Dudeeee, guys are human beings as well! Like as if they won't get jealous if another guy talks to their gf! Isn't it same vice versa? She did get jealous when the girls crowd around yasu! Seriously, that sentence alone and that scene alone, is very stupid. No offense.
Everyone will get jealous of something or someone! How could Yasu not get jealous?! I felt like slapping her when she said that. BRAINLESS! She's really dumb. my gawd. Yasu really have the right to get angry. And the part where she wanted to kiss Tokihisa was PATHETIC. And why is she wavering her thoughts when her childhood friend confessed to her? She could just say she's not interested if she's really in love with Yasu. Grrr...she makes me angry. Seriously. There are obviously a lot of other stronger girls than this one. I won't even call her strong anymore! But I gave it a 7 because of the guys and the art! Hmph!

I just read this out of boredom but when I was so into it, I started laughing. Not because it's funny but because it reminded me of my childhood Two years back, I was still studying in an all girl's school. Our attitudes were exactly like that. Noisy, shameless and wicked Then one day, rumor spread that our school (which has been exclusive since established) will be open to boys and like we all panicked and everything! Like 'oh my god. i can't put my legs up on tables, now can't i?' and stuff like that.
So anyway, this is a good read but I stopped around 3rd chapter because I got tired of the art (I like beautiful art). But I hope to pick it up again soon.

I genuinely didn't like this manga. The only reason I decided to finish was cuz there were a couple of good jokes here and there... but the plot was predictable, and thus VERY boring. I only suggest this if you're... confined to your bed (sick or somethin') and have a laptop (with internet) and NOTHING useful or important to do (pretty much like I was).
On that note, I'm really surprised Viz expected this to sell... I don't know a single person who would actually buy this.
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that the male main characters look like the main character from Twilight... FAIL. Flame me all ya want. That's FAIL.
