It was a long, strange ride with this one, to be sure.
But was it worth it? Ehhhhhhhhh.
Do I recommend Happy Negative Marriage? Well, only if you picked it up back in 2010/11 like I did and want to see what actually happened in the end. Otherwise, I can't recommend it in good conscience. Amazume's works after this one have noticeably dipped in quality, as well.

I remember picking up Nana to Kaoru way back when and enjoying it. So much so that I elevated Amazume, probably quite a bit too much. And finally finishing this and Nana to Kaoru Last Year showed me how wrong my initial impression was. The art in Amazume's manga is top-notch, but the sex scenes in this one are lacking in eroticism and the storytelling is pretty horrendous. How many times does Amazume go back to the well with Satou leaving Akio behind, and Akio acting like a doormat? Too many, I'd say.
Also, it's obvious that the story was meant to go in a different direction with the rivalry between the prospective fiances being explored, but obviously that didn't happen. Instead Satou gets transferred and Akio moves in next door, because she just can't give up on the bum. It's completely unrealistic nonsense.
And the less said about Akio's makeover, the better.

Finally after all these years I get to see how it ends *Completed*

What can I say, I enjoy Amazume Ryuta series in art, themes and character writing. I'm going to preface this review that it's clearly rushed/axed and that it has some not so good writing in it.
This series on here has tags like "Realistic Relationships" and I just can't agree with that at all. There is alot of wheel spin in this series too where the status quo doesn't change in story nor character building to a point I can see why it was axed.
The characters feel like real people I do agree with but the actions vs consequences isn't so its a mixed bag. Because this got rushed the multi-faceted ending feels incomplete and the clear arc that was going to happen with the MFL's new fiance just gets stopped with no real resolution cause there was clearly a limited numbers of chapters when they got the axing news (I assume they got told volume 3 is the end as it "ends" some of the important stuff over several chapters albiet clumsily).
The main male lead is a frustrating read in several ways cause the consequences of his actions shouldn't lead to the happy end he gets. The Female lead's arc though does feel better although not great cause again clearly rushed ending.
Still overall I have to give it a 6/10 cause while rushed its still a complete story and we even have some closure on side characters so defo not the worst rushed ending. It's still worth a read but not to the same quality as other series this Mangaka has made (This is certainly no Nana to Kaoru)

I don't think I'm ever going to find out how this story ends :(

I put this story on the back burner for YEARS. Figured I'd give it time to get translated...
It's now 2018... and I can't even find all the Raws for a discussion of the end, or spoiler filled wiki.
I give up

Well it's a decent one...Feels more or less like Virgin No Kenkai...where couples to get married, having second thoughts...struggling with the thoughts about doing it or not...
Well...Anybody can to guess the ending...so...

im not really an ecchi kind of person but the art is really pretty, yeah, yeah im a girl. so the story is kindda, i dont know, meh. its not making me itch to see what happens next cause im not really liking or rooting for the any of the protagonists. the only thing good i, i guess, is what Mako's father said about the relationship, that my friends is real. even i cant believe that they can fall in love and get married that fast. its a recipe for disaster.

This series is pretty much what I've come to expect from Amazume-sensei: an awkward and sexually charged romance. I happen to enjoy his works but this particular series is pretty average among them. Still, if you're looking for a seinen romance with more awkwardness and less gloom than normal, this series might be for you.

Another great manga by Amazume Ryuta

Good story line so far. The author is also the writer of "Nana to Kaoru" which is one of my favorite mangas. I feel like there are still a lot of stuff we still havent seen yet and its going to take a while for the author to finish this manga because of his other works. I rate this manga a 8/10 because its not finish yet.

good but there are way to many h scenes

most of the recent chapters have either been about doing it or coming close to it. I would rather have the manga focus on the marriage for a while so i don't feel like I'm reading a hentai.

AMAZUME Ryuta is known for perfect mangas. He started with hentai but his storylines are flawless. Especially after reading his perfect Toshiue no Hito I'm assured this manga have a great future storywise. And his non-hentai books are known not to be overwhelmed by "sex scenes at 80% of manga".
