So the story's not bad, but the first thing that jumps out at you is the weird-ass art! It's like halfway shoujo art almost? First of all the MC is hella feminine (wears a bow, which is super rare for long haired male characters), and were it not for the first chapter literally showing him topless, I would've gone a few chapters wondering his gender.
...oh wait, never mind, because all females are ridiculously stacked. Like massive mammaries. Huge... tracts of land. And yet the art is really cutesy and adorable and shoujo-esque. It's a weird dichotomy for sure. Also, the first chapters at the academy really heavily push the waifus appearing, but then it backs off and goes to normal.
Anyway, for all that the art is really weird and I've never seen anything comparable in a serious hunter-type series, it lends itself well to funny and SOL moments. There are some kinda hilarious chibi style humorous moments, and the art matches.
Which again, is kinda odd? Because the series itself is pretty dark and serious. Bullying, classism, and so on take a front-and-center position in the story. But hey, the training montage to make the MC OP was in the first chapter, so now it's basically how he's F-Ranked and crushing everyone but the #1 and #2, and that's only because he hasn't fought them or really interacted with htem yet. (BTW, they're waifus, along with his necromancer partner).
We'll see how it goes, I'll give it a solid medium rating for right now. Nothing bad per se, just the art is shockingly cutesy at times, and the MC is a femboy for no real apparent reason. At least he's not a shota though? Think on the bright side!
