Description
World War III is over, and nomad soldier Duenan Knute and her cyborg partner Briareos struggle to survive in the abandoned cities and demilitarized zones of the post-war wasteland, the "Badside." Hard to follow? haha, gotta read the two ghost in the shell volumes then guys.
i find appleseed a lot easier to understand...
this manga has a multi layered storyline, some of them pass on the media surrounding the heroine, some are just small background stuff...re-reading a lot it is mandatory.
This said, political intrigues involved in appleseed are all lost in the video adaptations, too bad.
i frankly got disappointed by ALL of them, only the two latest oav's are worth more than a 5/10.
the full 3D cellshading ones are a complete no-go, even action scenes s*ck.

This was great, art wasn't the best at first, but by the third volume Shirow hit his stride. Yeah, it's a little hard to follow at times, but it's a great story nonetheless.
This 80's cyber punk manga is full of technicisms from technology, military & police worlds. You add to that some international conspiracy, mix in a little bit of existentialism and there you have: appleseed. I found it very hard to follow. Not worthy enough to read.
