In the Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint novel, there's an ongoing joke about a BL relationship between Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk. Any "subtext" there is on purpose and played for comedy. It's not there to imply any real ambiguity to their relationship. There's also that other character later in ORV that's described as the most beautiful man and similar BL jokes are played up with him. (could have been bad translation, but I think that character even morphed into being female)
>> If those type of jokes make you uncomfortable, then this story is definitely NOT for you.
The BL style jokes in this story are more in your face, but that's all it is: a joke. Not actually BL. There's no ambiguous subtext that one could argue as baiting--it's obviously a purposeful joke. If you're looking for actual gay-baiting "BL subtext", go read certain specific sports Mangas hahaha.
The actual relationship that develops through the characters's actions is that of a caretaker and child, where the MC is trying to heal the broken pieces created by the terrible childhood of the novel's future villain before he takes on the villain role.
edit: Daum actually has #childcare on their page for this webtoon hahahahaaha --end of edit
The BL jokes mostly occur in the beginning, so you'll know pretty fast if it's too much for you.
That's my take on what I've read so far.
Btw, I hate gay-baiting in stories as I view it as exploiting the audience and disrespectful of gay issues. I do enjoy BL subtext because exploring how intricate people can be is interesting to me. But this story is neither.
