The manga has severe pacing issues, in the beginning, i really liked the manga as it was like a slice of life manga but with a person who was seemingly perfectionist. I wish there was romatic things in the beginning, but anything that was involving romance was usually onesided, as medeka would think that the love the people show her is the sort of love you would give to your pets or a god that loves the people that they created (i am not saying she is looking down on people, just she doesnt know how to interpret love properly, as in her words is that "she loves everyone" )
Regardless putting aside the romance stuff aside, the beginning was fun, what made this manga
When i started to dislike the manga, tht occured when the abnormals came in, which turned the whole manga into battle shounwn, after the abnormals it became focused on the minuses (people who have powers that are not helpful to society) while these two arcs did bring my opinion down, it wasnt that bad, as it did show the cute side of Medeka, however i really wish there was something eomatic between mc and medeka, like at least they show eachother some form of affection. Regardless wwhile i disliked the ending of the minuses arc, the arcs following after were horrendous
The "not equals 5 group" i legit had no clue about their purpose other than them being normal people who wanted to be medeka successor, it is also at this point of the manga when the author makes these cringy co.parisons about how our mc can become a better mc, using literal words like "to make a manga, you need blah blah blah, this is just like a manga, with one sweep of my brush, all ur words turn to nothings", and such, i cringed heavily in this part.
Spoilers ahead, but im doing you a favor,
My favorite part in that arc was when mc won the student election, got medeka position, which in turned allowed medeka to experience a childhood like she could not experience before.
I liked how he asked for her hand in marriage in the black wedding arc.
I liked how he could not solve the puzzle medeka made whereas everyone else did, as that showed to everyone that he is human compared to these monsters, which made it feel somewhat relatable.
What i disliked,
I hate how this sudden show of affection just comes out of when mc wins the election, it should have been way earlier, and even though she confessed to him, there are no scenes of them doing any form of couple activities.
in the black wedding arc, mc asks her after the battle for her hand in marriage, to which she says yes. After the black wedding arc, we go 10 yrs in the future, and the final frame is him telling medeka if he wins, she will marry hims, to which she agrees.
Wtf was that, they agreed to marry eachother after the blavk wedding, now 10 yrs after, he needs to fight her to get married. Like wtf was the author on when making this.
Regardless it had a fantastic intro, however when the following 3 arcs were just battle shounen with no romance no nothing, followed by in their words "a shitty combat manga now changes to a shitty romance manga"(im not joking they actually say that)
And the romance is about the election shit, which is hardly no romance as mc is trying to win against medeka to show her his love in the election (to which he does) then she suddenly loves him so much. To then a fucking battle shounen. This manga tone is inconsistant and the mood is all over the place. I would not recommend reading this manga, unless you just want to see the ecchi stuff
