The biggest issue i have is honestly trying to rememeber every person and how they met the main group and their personality traits. Its easy when they are uniquely shaped, but when the author decides to add so many more characters, everything starts to blend together, after chapter 260 i have been finding myself struggling to know who is who exactly other than the main characters. As everyeone looks the same to an extent. The women look nearly identitcle except for their hairstyles and the men honestly look the same. This becomes more apparent near chapter 300 where im faced with multiple male characters whose i honestly cannot remmeber from the previous chapters as there is so many male characters

Its good but there are so many moments when there is so much information and text in one chapter. Because of that i skim what is being said and try to understand it via context clues but to no avail. If you like text dumps, read this manga

Ok from what i read, chapters 1 through 200 are very attention grabbing, some parts may be a bit of a bore but overall these chapters arw actually really good.

Chapters 200-260 on the other hand, my god, idk what happened, but the amount of chapters needed for this big arc and the introduction of different characters. It made my brain explorde and not in the ood way

Im on chapter 280 and it seemingly starting to pick up its pace but we shall see

One of the biggest gripes i have is the character designs are unique for some people and not for others despite some of them being more important than the uniquiely made characters.

Another thing i wish they did was make it clear qho is who? Sometimes they introduce a character which later turns out to play a significant role. And due to how forgetttable their intro was, you would be confused and wonder who is that. Antoher thing i disliked is after each arc, sometimes it feels like we jumped forward a few days. Like idk how to describe it other than abrupt, i wish they would clarify and 2 character who were not together during a gamble, get togehter after a gamble despite being in 2 seperate locations (this point is iffy because i honestly do not know how to accurately explain it)

I really really loved the bull arc

I disliked terrorist arc a bit

Liked the buolding arc like that os the baseline

Really really hated the tower arc cause it was boring

Actually a good gambling manga

Basically lots of mind fuckery with a splash of action.
And gambling in this case is not just limited to your average casino poker games etc. But has other interesting games all of which the stakes are high.

Might get confusing at times and I need to re-read some parts but I don't mind that.

Overall a very worth while read which kept me occupied for a few weeks.

Best gambling manga I've ever read

Starting out a bit weak, this manga will get really good after the Hangman arc (about volume 9-10). After that, the story become much more engaging and entertaining.

Unlike other gambling manga, Usogui is more realistic in terms of power play and politics. There is an emphasis that even if you win the gamble, if your opponent can force his violence on you, he could forcefully steal your winning (or even kill you). That is why in this manga, violence is inseparable with the gambling, making the dynamic much more intricate and interesting.

This manga might not be for everyone. The author do not try to dumb it down to make it easier for the reader to understand. So sometimes, we have to reread the arc to fully understand the story. So, my advice is read until the end of Hangman arc then reread that arc. If you don't find it engaging, then maybe it's not for you..

flamboyant and sometimes bizarre

Mangaka Toshio's approach can only be described as flamboyant and sometimes bizarre. The drawing style, the storyline and even the fighting are all part of the manga's unorthodox charm. However, if there is one thing I just have to complain about it would be the author's ambition to turn this into a fighting manga; lol it is simply a force not to be reckoned with.

Edit vol 29

I did take a small break during the tower arc but ended up marathon my way to vol 29. Now, I'm more intrigued than ever by the man we call an enigma. The bits and pieces of the story that initially seemed to be just buffers were in fact clues and motifs that lead up to a larger revelation. Although, it was only a small glimpse into Madarame's past, I will still give my applause to Mr Toshio for masterminding that brilliant plot twist which I did not see coming. At the rate the story is unfolding I hope more mysteries will be unraveled soon.

Akagi Meets Kaiji With Better Art

I have read up to volume 8, and so far this manga is very entertaining. Imagine that Kaiji meets Akagi, and Akagi decides to use/help/both Kaiji while he (Akagi) pursues his own agenda (the nature of which is not yet clear). Baku is much like Akagi in that he functions as a kind of Buddhist demon who defeats his flawed opponents by exploiting their attachments/weaknesses. Kaji is Everyman---torn between conflicting desires but basically good hearted.

The art takes getting used to since it has a lot of this and that, but it's a pretty good idea [gambling, assassins,a really smart and hot guyxD] well i think so , idk bout you guys^_^ can't believe this manga hasn't gotten more reviews. anyways, dont get fooled by the art, dont judge guys, this manga is pretty kick-ass and the main character is someone you'll most likely root for. 🙂 He has his moments 🙂 <3
anyways, i love this type of mangas were the main character is known by everyone as someone famous, and he's like a legend and he's a super genious when trying to defeat his enemies with mind-games 🙂 love it , keep up the good work 🙂
