Najika is a great cook and likes to make meals for the people she loves. But something is missing from her life. When she was a child, she met a boy who touched her heart–and now Najika is determined to find him. The only clue she has is a silver spoon that leads her to the prestigious Seika Academy. At Seika she meets two brothers Daichi and Sora, could one of them be the boy from her childhood?

A Little More...

In my opinion, I liked this manga. The art was OK, and the recipes were eligible, but I think that the topic lacked some. When I read this manga, it was going OK until Sora died. But then again, up until Sora died, the manga was pretty much lifeless. With the new upcoming character and Najika's arising love for Daichi. But I thought that the ending should have been more, unexpected. Since Najika went to visit Lavender House and asked Daichi about the spoon his rejection made me realize he was the prince. But he didn't know himself because of the accident. All in all, I liked this manga, though I still think that it needed a little more.

where sora dies.

that doesn´t suit the manga at all, and it makes me cry. But it´s a good manga

Simply Amazing

I seriously fell in love with all the characters in this manga. Although you could say its kinda cutesy and stuff i really liked how everything ended well.. [color=white]except when Sora died =(... that ripped my heart out[/color] Overall this manga was a good read and i dont regret reading all 10 volumes at all! it felt really short to me actually! I recommend it. simply amazing like the taste of Flan 😉 (haha ok tht was kinda gay but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. haha)
OH THE ART IS REALLY GOOD TOO!

Childhood Favorite

TLDR: Shoujo manga to the fullest but with a huge dose of feels.

Long Version:
I remember picking this up at the library thinking “the art is so cute let me try it”. I’m so glad I did. I got attached to each of the characters and was laughing out loud at Najika’s antics, you definitely fall in love.

And that exact love is what makes it all the more heartbreaking.

Anyway, would definitely recommend. It’s sweet with just enough doses of reality.

Lacked something in everything

I second what the person below me said about its similarity with Fruits Baskets, with less developed characters and less believable emotional growth. But really, resembling Fruits Baskets is really not too bad a feature, since Furuba is one of my first and most loved shoujos, so I had a really nice, warm, nostalgic feeling while reading this series.

That being said, I didn't particularly love this manga. The theme was a very wise choice, since cooking appeals to a large audience most of the times, and the warm and sweet tone was a nice accompaniment to this theme. But the developments and characters were, how do I say it, kinda lousy and should have been invested in more. I really have no problem with the cliches (I mean, shoujo without cliche? Never heard of that), but if carefully handled, cliches could also be charming. Here they were not. It made this manga hard to grow attached to.

The art was good. Delicious cakes, lovely recipes. Character's looks lacked signature somehow. Yeah, that was exactly my problem with this series, it always felt like it lacked something in everything.

An average manga abt cooking and romance

Aside from the nice art about baking and cooking, i have to say that the manga is quite boring and there isnt much going on in the story line. I like Najika though. She is an honest, outgoing and caring girl. However, as it was mentioned by some readers, the mood of the characters changed too fast and therefore the stories didnt leave much impression.

Its bad but good at the same time ARRGH, picked it up on a whim and read the whole thing in one shot,then when i hit the last chapter (scanned) i was WTF NOOOOOOO, and promptly ran into my kitchen and grabbed a cookie, TT i want more. A little more serious now, its very cliched and can run some what hectic but is still good.

Cute, but predictable

While it is a stereotypical shoujo, consisting of the usual happy-go-lucky girl with a tragic past who hides it all and is searching for the boy of her past that made her smile. All/most characters have some secret past or background or sad experience she helps them overcome and never helps herself, finds two boys that love her and she is too oblivious to realize the obviousness of it.... exc, exc. Very reminiscent of Fruits Basket's Tohru Honda. Very sweet with amazing artwork and beautiful pictures. The plot is starting to become a bit more unique along with the character development. For now, this is still a 10 in my book.

I found this manga to be incredibly boring and cliched. Najika comes across as being bipolar - her mood swings from extremely depressed to happy in just a few pages which makes her unlikeable and fake and the ending is super predictable.

On the plus side there were some good pictures of food and some nice recipes but other then that there wasn't a lot going for it.

Yeah, I agree, it anyone is looking for something like Fruits Basket, this is it, it even has Sohma Hiro in it! well he looks like him and in the beginning act just like him! I honestly LOVE this series!
