Description

Saying bye-bye to Earth and blasting off to school in space was a dream come true for Nux. But no one told him how mediocre he would seem stacked up against the brightest minds in the universe. Plot twist

The first season is sex sex sex h h h, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. I did feel like it was missing a lot of the emotional development... And the main character did seem like an ass at first, using Owen for his money. BUT I also didn't feel repulsed by Nux (which I would normally for characters using another's true heartfelt emotions) probably because I kinda see how it's overwhelming when all this just came down on Nux and things were happening so fast. Is nux an asshole? Sure, yeah. But his situation is so out there, and he was being a good sport (sometimes) while dealing with Owen. (Him being spiteful though is a different story. I don't agree with using Owen's feelings for petty revenge.)

But then the plot deepens at the end of season 1 and I haven't been able to stop reading. The sex dies down in season 2 and we are hit with major plot and emotional development. I really enjoyed season 2. The dread hits hard, but not enough to tear me to shreds, and the light comedy keeps this series at a comfortable level to be invested in the plot but not drown in misery. Nux becomes more likeable and I honestly want to cheer him on now.

It's a good light read, and I'm always a sucker for stories that have a twist that makes your second time rereading the series a totally different experience.

Also major props to the translator and editor because there is quite a bit of (dirty) word play. It probably wasn't an easy series to translate, with all the sci Fi jargon too. I do get lost in the SciFi explanations, but still koodos to the localization team cause this is one tough series to work on!

Top disgusts and confuses straight bottom that needs money for school and living. Toxic insanity ensures.

Bottom tests what he can do and top pushes him into unwanted xy time. Just as bottom's mind starts clearing up and realizing things, top's vanishing makes it all hit home. Giving bottom the thought of being abandoned and sending him into practical depression.

It does turn wholesome, but mostly in the later chapters.

I started reading this, but I could never really get INTO it. Like, the art style is really good, and the plot seems fine, but this series just never really clicked with me.

I'm not really sure what was up with it, I might just might have not liked

how there was more than one of them,

or Nux. He wasn't really vibing with me tbh.

I might try it again one day, because you never know.

I would recomend to take a look at it yourself, just because one person doesn't like it doesn't mean the other won't either. "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."

Trash MC

The MC is a coward and trash about relationships.

The Seme has shown through his actions and words how the MC means everything to him. MC is his world and the Seme even confesses his love. But MC treats the Seme like trash cause he's got the upper hand in the relationship. Cause the Seme wants him and not the other way around. MC constantly contradicts himself, never following through with his 'determination' for anything except running away or doing something for money (after saying he won't do whatever it is). He is full of broken promises and lies then complains that Seme won't trust him.

At the end of season 1 - the MC has the audacity to blame the Seme for leaving. Saying how the Seme never really cared about him. How the Seme was just playing him and never planned to stay. And yet it was actually the MC who was playing the Seme the whole time! Making plans for leaving the Seme and never saying anything nice to the Seme except "i dont hate you that much".

At the start of season 2 - MC decides he wants to be a parent regardless of his trash personality and struggles with work/money. His kid is happy and has all she could ever want and he wants to barge into that. He learned nothing through this whole thing so far. Again, MC is trash!

MC blames Seme for all their troubles, never owning up to his own trash behavior.
