Description

One day while walking home from her job, Kurumi Akino finds a wounded young man, and saves his life. He mysteriously disappears after that, and leaves only the name “Hakuron”. Next thing she knows she’s been kidnapped from her school, and is on a private jet with that man, heading to China. It turns out she saved the life of the most infamous mobster in Hong Kong, and he wants her to stay with him.

love comes in different forms.. label me a weirdo or sicko, but i can sympathetize with the main male lead.. you love someone and you dont want to hurt them but there are times that "I" think i just want to lock her in a cage and just keep her to myself.. I dont want anybody to see her or touch her.. I cant deny that I have those thoughts.. if I ever was in his shoes, with all the fame, power, status and money I would do the same thing he did.. make her not forget about me for the rest of her life.. he was just rough around the edges and he really wasnt taught about love and he doesnt know how to express it.. but he really did want the girl to stay by his side, cause she was his light in the dark world of the mafia. unexpecdetly, it was quite entertaining (my title subject).. i was anxious to read the next chapter as I finish a chapter.. the drawings were really nice.. there was heavy drama.. the smutfest was definitely there.. it was a good read for me.. not recommded for those who just started reading manga or to hypocrites or idealists.. not like im not one but after reading this comment, hope you pick this up.. it might be what you are looking for than those other romance mangas out there..

It seems that manga written by Mayu Shinjo has little variation as she can draw one male and female and the only thing that changes is hair length and colour. This manga in particular rolls out all the cliches in the Shoujo handbook from rich teen boyfriend, kidnapping to amnesia which are occasionally enjoyable to read.
However I cannot enjoy this manga due to all the rape. Before a certain event the story was a classic and was progressing predicatively, then following an event there was nothing but rape for ages and the only reason I kept on reading was that I found out from a spoiler that

The lead male character turned rapist gets shot and dies in the final chapter

I would not recommend this series to anyone unless they are the type of person that loves that kind of stuff.

Typical Shinjo Mayu plot. Corny and overexagerated but somehow I read it anyway like I read all of her stuff (whyyyy? I cant tell if I like it or hate it! lol) She does try to get out of her typical plot a bit with the tragedy and the overuse of blood. Very smutty, even for shinjo mayu. If you dont like that then dont read it, if you do this will be full of it so go for it!

The 2 main characters fall in love instantly for pretty much no reason. And then they have way too many problems that dont even matter (and some that kinda do i guess lol) then they keep doubting each other and then saying they wont doubt. Hate then love. "im afraid of you and hate you" "now i love you and trust you" every other chapter is love/hate. its anoying. both the main characters are really really stupid. They both wont be honest with themselves or others, and dont tell each other about things that are really really important and would make all the difference. its way too overdramatic and the main girl expecially cant commit to a single decision to save her life.

also its one of those cliche everyone falls in love with the main girl and they all want her for some reason even though she has like no redeming qualities.

Yet I read it, twice. -_-

He may have an angelic face, but definitely not an angelic heart. Yes, i think Hakuron is handsome. So what? I read this till like, chapter 5? And i couldn't continue anymore... I did try to return to it afterwards and, ahem, i saw A LOOOOT of rape. I mean i'm the type who really reads hardcore smut (not hentai, they're different) but i really couldn't put up with this. I have some points i'd like to make though.

Okay, for a first, who the heck allows herself to be raped repeatedly and trampled on like shit? -_-

I know she tried to escape and ended up with Kaafei, but she still returned to him after that and

he raped her in front of Kaafei

I'm sorry, but i don't think that this is called love. It goes against all feminists. I really dislike weak-willed female leads (for a great example, it's Kurumi over there) and the fact that she'd cry and go oh so sad and always think it's her fault. Painful. And why, oh why, did she return to Hakuron? Huh? What kinda love is this? S&M whaa?

I won't deny it, i cried when Hakuron died. (I skipped to the end). But looking back on it,

i think he deserved to die. So there. 🙂 Assholes like these should be wiped off the face of the earth. Oh, Shinjo Mayu too. Oh and as someone below mentioned...

Hakuron is definitely impotent. LOL when you f**k someone so much there's supposed to be a pretty big chance of getting her pregnant.

Lastly, this manga went on for 9 volumes!! I assume that the number of volumes/chapters is determined by the popularity of the manga [seeing stuff like [m]One Piece[/m]] What is up with the demented mind of the JAPANESE GIRLS reading this? What the heck? It's 50 bloody chapters!! Spare me. My god, are you guys so desperate? Why do you have to do this??

Haou Airen has its nice heart felt moments, then its annoying moments then its "OMG thats going over the line" moments.... overall i liked-ish this manga. The smut was abit much but then again Mayu Shinjo is the queen of such things. Plot/s was impressively put together considering that they were VERY complex through my prespective. The ending was ...........undescribable. I ACTUALLY CRIED! ( I mean someone was bound to be outside and call for help but oh my gosh!) I CRIED!!!! DId i mention that the dude loves the girl sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much that he would rapage her..yer pretty insane abit like 100% perfect girl (< A HIGHLY RECOMMEND MANGA) - i do reccomended this manga but DEFINTELY NOT TO THE LIGHT- HEARTED! oh yer did i mention the art is OMG WOWOWOWOWOOWOWOOWOOW ....

Love is about making mistakes, sure... But it's not about raping the one you love. He didn't even wait till she got over her friend's death. He raped her. Because he couldn't live without her? Because he loved her so much he couldn't imagine going on without her? Love isn't about hurting the one you love on purpose. It is about doing things to make them stay with you, but not that. I can't say that this isn't love, neither can I say that it is love... More like a twisted love with a side of more twisted. =_=;

This sort of love... just makes one feel depressed and it isn't good at all. I recommend not reading this series... It's probably the worst of Shinju Mayu's...

I honestly loved most of this manga .. I actually got pretty attached to it from the beginning. Although the part when he was just constantly raping her pissed me off along with that Lei Lan girl. But besides that it was really good. I enjoyed reading MOST of it and I thought the plot was pretty good although they did drag some parts out a bit too much.

But I though the ending was a really shame. Honestly I was looking forward to a nice ending where they get married and have a kid or something like that (which she should considering the amount of times they got it on) but NO that super gay dude who thinks he can protect Kurumi had to go and wreck it. And then she just ends up with the cat. WTH?! Uber lame that neither of them ended up happy.

I mean I know Hakuron did some horrible things but despite all that drama and lead up to the ending you'd think you would find some saught of resolve. Especially after Kurumi stopped being an annoying prick so rather then being all like "I am unworthy!" or "You are a murderer!" and finally found some resolve.
Well I guess besides the ending it was pretty awesome and I seriously enjoyed it.

I love this manga, and they go through so much.

I just wish that they could have finally gotten married. It was so close, and with all that happened, I wish that she could have given them happiness at the end T_T

Yeh there was lots of rape and nonsense but it's not really bad or anything.

I was very disappointed in the ending; it was so sad... They deserved to be together after going through all of that.

no offense, but i like shinjo mayu's mangas.but the one thing that bothers me the most is the fact that the lead females are always perceived as weak, thus need to be continuously protected-be it in the name of love, lust, etc! Moreover, Shinjo Mayu has created magnificent characters, transformed into the male leading or supporting characters. but the lack of presence for the females are far too apparent. I think there is no strong connection whatsoever between the female and male characters here,among others, could be seen in keikan phrase and of course haou airen.
no offense, i do enjoy this manga, but i think this manga wouldnt go that far if the leading female and male characters are too imbalanced in personality. Take a look at Hana yori Dango, where the leading characters' presence are so strong, it was even adapted into drama series. Hopefully, in her future creations, the mangaka could present an even better and outstanding storyline that will far surpass my criticism.

Clearly, Shinjo Mayu's leading female characters need to be re formulated. They shouldnt be abandoned to be as weak as they are. and the string between the characters need to be stronger, and developed more comprehensively.
