It left me with the same feeling of having wasted time on something incredibly dumb. That's why I deleted it immediately after I had finished it and decided to leave a nice comment because I remembered it being labeled as "Psychological" and "Seinen" and just couldn't believe that. This manga just makes me wonder what the qualifications for "Seinen" are even more than before. Well, I will leave it at that.
This is without a doubt one of the most unique manga I have ever read. It's like the author took the premise of a fairy tale and uses his own off-beat style and storytelling to create a truly mad ride. The art is simple but very clean and effective in creating a cold but somewhat nostalgic atmosphere. It's like a weird dream you vaguely remember having as a kid.
Sadly, most people won't see beyond the surface and appreciate it for what its really worth. This is quite possible the hardest sell to the narrow-minded masses. Especially folks that think seinen is all about sex and violence. Seinen is manga for mature minds to me, and both sex and violence are only mature on the surface.
I'll take this peculiar little story over any shounen, shoujo, moe, violence, ecchi, whatever series any day.
Well, not that I expect a lot of people were gonna like it. If they were, this wouldn't be as good.
