To be honest, I wasn't really keen to start reading this manga when a friend of mine recommended this, because I'm not really a shounen kind of person (the only shounen I like is Death Note, and I read Naruto out of habit). I was ready to drop it within 5 pages into the story, but the art (believe it or not) kept me reading. The mangaka keeps up with the details of the characters in every panel, which is great because I've seen some mangaka slack off on drawing the details (eg. the hair) if the characters appear too frequently in the pages. Anyway, I think the art is just stunning 🙂 .
Another thing that I really like about Replica is the main character. He's a major bad ass but a softie at the same time, which I find adorable.
The idea of having toys that kill is pretty interesting. At first, I thought it wasn't really anything special, but as the story progresses you discover more kinds of 'toys' that just make you go WOW.
Too bad the manga books won't be released in Australia anytime soon (if ever), or I would've bought all of them 🙂 I'm dieing to read the following chapters ! !
Anyway, for all of you shounen readers out there, you should seriously consider Replica. It is a all-in-one package: action, humor, mystery (and dark, sometimes) and fantastic artwork.
