I really enjoyed this series. I even put up with sleeping late in a school day just to finish this. It was worth it. the story, the art, the characters, everything was perfect. Yes, undeniably, it contained a lot of cliches, like tons of it, but it didn't destroy the story all together. Yes, it had a weak female lead, but we have to remember that it's SHOUJO. Shoujo has weak cry baby leads most of the time. But other than that, I liked it a lot. the art was awesome. The plot is sweet and tragic but you'll find yourself laughing most of the time. My heart ached while reading this. It'a very good thing to read, I regret not reading it sooner. So, everyone read it now and enjoy the sweet story!

It's finally over.. I finished this in one go. I've encountered this series several times before but didn't pick it up because I wasn't really interested in stories with such a young heroine (14 yo.) in a romantic relationship with someone much older. But now I'm glad that I took the chance when I found it this afternoon--it's "Comedy" category made me take the plunge.

The characters' personality are pretty cliche for shoujo--both protagonists are dense though. I'm a little disappointed by the ending but in a way, it makes this more memorable. I don't think it's a MUST READ, but it's really good if you're looking for a light read and some laughs. :3

I enjoyed this series immensely. It was everything I was hoping for, so it gets a 10. 😛

I was actually pretty skeptical when I began reading due to some, in my opinion, harsh reviews; however I, as stated above, loved this series. The art work was beautiful, and complimented the time setting and characters nicely.

To: slykid , I believe you misinterpreted that scene in the manga, as it appears he is simply remembering holding her hand in her old age, or as she passes away. It's not what's left of her. :T

Also, to the people who commented saying Hana was very annoying at times, I disagree, I didn't find her behavior annoying at all. I thought she was a very cute character and I loved her. :] However, considering she is supposed to be 14 at this time, she does seem very immature for her age... I suppose throughout the story I ignored the age she was supposed to be, and saw her as about... 9 years old? :T

All in all, a very good read. I would recommend it. 🙂 Although if your a romantic, prepare for some tears in some of the chapters 😉 ^^

Edit Seems I forgot to mention, slykid, their children could retain some human qualities. Sheesh. It's not la la land.

when you know shoujo manga is targeted towards girls, as a guy you remain skeptical at best whether this would interest you. Me, I read everything, and despite my vast range of manga, this story started well, developed well and ended well. It didn't leave any plot holes nor stupidities like girl breaks through barrier and they live happily ever after for eternity. It thoroughly remained grounded in the pseudo-laws of the established universe. Which made the story perfect for me. All in all looking for a unrealistic happy leaves me with saying the author just could only fuel the fire and let it die slowly. This starts a fire, throws gasoline on it, controls the fire to incinerate its enemies, and then is put out safely after roasting smores.
Anyway Good stuff.

This is not only funny, but touching as well. This is not a perfect romance by any means, looking at the obstacle of him being immortal and she human, so get out your tissues. This is not for someone who is looking for the picturesque ending, nor the "twi-hard" fan that gets everything in the end, because this one made me sob buckets.
Ps: Just re-read it and Im still crying.

One of the best shoujo mangas I've read recently. <3

I love how their relationship was portrayed, and how Vivi developed. The fantasy element was incorporated nicely, and there were some very heartwarming moments. Also, that ending~! Bittersweet, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

On the other hand, it got too fluffy sometimes, but it's shoujo so I expected that. If I wanted something darker I'd go read josei. Most of the "filler" chapters were pointless, though still mildly entertaining. Most of the characters were also pretty flat, to the point where it annoyed me that Vivi was the only one with any development.

Overall, Hana to Akuma had a great message, but it could have been delivered better. Nonetheless, it's an amazing read if you set your criticisms aside and enjoy the ride~

It's so cute and I really loved the ending! The art was alright and moving at times. ;u;

The only thing that I didn't quite like was the lack of depth, by that, I'm referring to things like a deeper past, a darker tone, etc.

I can't believe the huge negative ratings due to the end.... sure it wasn't all sunshine and roses but it was still insanely sweet. Sure the chick got kinda annoying at times but it was always sweet and entertaining. Just cuz you don't agree with the ending don't bomb the rating of a great story x.x. fact is its a bit more of a realistic take on the difficulties of being with an immortal/high ranking person, and its an amazing read that will leave you with an amazing range of mixed feelings. Recommended to anyone who likes romance.

Utterly disappointed ...just no !

First off the idea of Hana getting old while vivi is still young doesn't make me happy, yeah everythings not about appearance but flip I feel angry for reading this, the mangaka has been cheap for I assume 'likes' not realistic.what she/he did was make everything like a perfect little fairy tale then BAAM ! when it came down to the end(reality) he/she hid the real reality of what Hana and vivi had actually done and what the real outcome would be(hard and emotional!) and in effect also what hana would look like and just left us in dream land with a sh*t cover up and left us with small sections of what people are calling 'reality'.This was to.... I don't know 'make readers feel better' or what ? just to finish it off a nice family scene' with young good looking people' nice ! with vivi and the rest of the gang and whats left of hana is a hand
...ooh and to make dream land even better they can touch flowers !! How wonderfully,! -_-

I like the story!! :D The art is good and almost everything is perfect ;)
BUT i just hate the girl! She is a bit TOO pure and innocent -.-'' she even has a baby face! Always smiling and vivi this, vivi that! it really gets annoying =/ Sometimes I even think she is not human! I am only chapter ten and i am bored with the girl...
oh well, i am still reading it... It's not because of an annoying girl that i have to stop reading it =)
Overall, all the characters are like-able and story keeps progressing (i just wish the girl would mature a bit as i continue reading it... cuz i am 12 and i dont smile like crazy)
I can give it 6 or 7 =)

Edit: well now, i continued reading it and i can say, I just cant stand the girl!!! >< i was extremely mad when she made a fuss about a fake rumor and even got kissed by another guy (chap 57) seriously!! she is not realictic at all!! even in the end, she kept that baby face and innocence! At first, i found it sweet~ but now, it kinda over-exagarating (sorry cant spell well) how can a normal girl be so pure!! i mean she is neither ying nor yang (search on google if you dont know about ying and yang)
