A little more than just a love story...

This manga is primarily a love story, a light and pretty fluffy one at that. But that doesn’t mean the plot is simple. No, there is some pretty interesting and unique ideas in here that make this manga, while still light and fluffy, worth the read.

Plot- The plot seems relatively straightforward, a political marriage to halt a war, however it is no a simple story. The story dips into the world of politics, the two main characters soon getting caught up in the middle of many different political agendas that they must carefully navigate through, for one wrong step could mean their death (literally). I like how this story brought in some politics while remaining a light read, there’s not going to anything that makes your brain hurt just reading it, but the different ideas and opinions about war and peace and other political things were interesting, and yet easy, to read.

Characters- The two mains, Johane and Euda, make a very cute couple. Johane is pretty straightforward, confident and yet caring. Euda levels Johane’s violence off with her gentle spirit and love for everyone. They are really a great couple and you can’t help but love them. The secondary characters aren’t bad either, but they don’t stand out to much, you learn at least a little about each secondary character to at least be able to like or dislike them.

Art- The art is nice, boxy but nice. It may take some getting used to but once you do the art is actually very nice and portrays the story excellently.

Other- I have two main issues with the story (not that they make me like it less or anything…), one is that annoying recap we get like…every chapter! I get it, I’ve been reading the story, you don’t need a recap every single chapter! The second issue is Euda, she continually ‘defends’ herself against Johane (yeah, she’s shy…) and yet when she’s attacked (which usually happens…) she is completely helpless. I understand that she isn’t a fighter but really, she’s in danger and she can’t do much. Other than those two little issues the story is very nice, with enough mystery and action to keep it from being just a boring love story. I definitely recommend this manga!

First of all, the art is beautiful! truly captivating and well drawn 🙂
The Story in my opinion is somewhat unique! 2 people from different countries who hate each other come together.. that, i have never encountered in all my manga reading days!
I love the balance between romance and action. The action and plots between enemies truly kept the story interesting! It also has a touch of comedy that mixed well with everything else
I absolutely loved this manga and would love to read it again later on in life 🙂
A manga that is worthy of your time.
Highly Recommended. You won't regret it

Totally agree with Asianromance's post.

The plot, characters and settings are all OKAY. Lovely story and a good read for Shojo manga lovers.

I just hoped that the whole romance thing..the love-hate relationships are not becoming too repetitive on every chapter..

(Spoilers ALERT>?)

*I kinda noticed that Euda's always been 'attacked' on every chappie and ended up being saved by the hero....Same intro..similar Drama going on between them.the typical trend..Hopefully, there's development in the future chapters.

When I read some of the comments, I got annoyed pretty quickly. It was quite obvious some of you didn't understand the setting of the story and most of you were hating on the female lead, Yuda. Sure it was repetitive, I won't argue with that, but you are missing out the fact that this was a monthly updated story. Many shoujo mangas that update monthly refresh the story's plot. I don't mind with people who say you hate the tsundereness in Yuda, because some people don't like tsunderes but when you say she can attack Johanne but not the bad guys, in which situation has she ever not tried to? Like for example the first main incident, when her country men lured her into a trap, she was freaking pushed down for god’s sake, and she had a knife to her throat like really you think she can do a back kick and beat the shit out of them? When she was held by the pretty lady, she freaking bit her hand and jumped into the pool so that she wouldn’t cause trouble for Johanne. Yuda can do the back kick things on Johanne because obviously he is not holding her with any force.

Yuda may be weak physically, but she has the strongest, bravest mind than all the other characters. Another thing I really also find quite irritating is the person who said she didn't do anything when he was being farmed for the massacre. It’s not that she didn't do anything, it’s that she wasn't allowed to do anything. Does no one remember that she couldn't see him? And that's why he had to sneak in her window, and dress up as a girl to see her. Did you not remember that she refused to take cover and sacrifice the people during the rose thingy? And also protected the girl from being shot? Sure if Johanne wasn’t there then she’d die and so would the girl but she went in to protect her anyways. She did NOT know Johanne was there, and yet she still tried to save the girl. Some people obviously do not understand Yuda’s character, and how brave she actually is. And some people probably didn’t read this till the end, so I’ll just stop here. 10/10 for this, very nicely developed plot and feelings. I cried at the end.

It's like a typical shoujo heroine BUT i dont know why it doesnt seem like those annoying female leads.... This is such a good manga... I Read it for a whole night!!! I just couldnt stop reading this... So! Try this very cute, UNIQUE , lovable, heart warming manga story ... I'm sure you'll find a way to like it (^_^)

Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen succeeds where so many other shoujo manga fail. The two main characters are both very adorable without becoming sickening. Euda or Yuda, unlike most rom-com female leads, isn't overly cute and isn't overly masculine and violent. Johane is pretty much the stereotypical, "nice guy" male lead. No complaints, but nothing special either. The two main characters develop a little throughout the manga, but it's nothing to write home about. I think Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen's charm comes from watching Euda and Johane interact. They're both very sweet, and you can't help but go, "Awww," when they have their romantic moments. Characters aside, the art's very cute. The plot's slow, but it starts to pick up near the end. The first half of the series is completely comedy-based. The ending gets a little more dramatic. Very nice supporting characters. Average setting. Again, cute read. Shoujo lovers should definitely pick it up.

Very cute love-hate, and very typical. The leads aren't very funny on their own, but together they're very sweet, and the hate doesn't drag for too long. She is placed in situations where the boy is always her savior (she also does the 'I'm embarassed! running away' and large blush closeups alot; she doesn't really fight back as a victim), and bit by bit her gratitude turns into love. The setting is standard fantasy fare- gardens, castles, and soldiers fighting for squabbling nobles; except the male lead has a handgun- and except without magic. It doesn't have a strong supporting cast or strong characterization of leads, but shoujos don't really need that, and it's just that- a passably fluffy sweet shoujo. ^^

my personal opinion: it's a good manga. yes the female lead is a bit annoying sometimes but other than that, all around she is pretty adorable. i think it's good that she is not a strong, perfect heroine, because i think it will be boring if it was like that. as for the prince, well the prince is the best character on this manga, end of. and about the story.. it's really good and heartwarming. so yeah, give it a try

Starts off fantastically and romantic but around the end I was getting bored of all the governmental conspiracies that were getting away in their love. It did have a nice ending though.

After reading lots and lots of shoujo, I became uninterested and bored of them, so I turned to shounen since most of them lack the romance required anyway...

Point is, after losing faith I read this manga to "pass the time" but it swept me away!!!
I was moved to tears..you'll laugh at the fun moments and you will cry in the sad ones

your heart will skip a beat more than once so please read this wonderful manga!! 😀
