I can look past all the usual cliches and stock standard stuff and on it own its not great but it isnt terrible but what really bored the hell out of me was the explanation of her situation at the start of almost every chapter.....

as someone else pointed out the chapters did seem a little episodic but it didn't put me off form liking this manga or anything. As the story progresses the recaps and episodic nature of the manga seems to lessen significantly. The romance is very slow moving but because it was only two volumes I didn't really mind. overall it was cute, but like some other reviewers I'm not so sure I would like it as much as I did if I wasn’t such a big fan of mafia manga’s. The art was mostly good but the characters noses and side profiles threw me off sometimes. That all being said there is good here as well. The love story is very cute and the slow build of the romance just makes it seem more realistic to me. They did use a lot of clichés in the romance but i think the difference here is that they used those clichés correctly and made it work, unlike some of the ham-fisted clichés you sometimes see unnecessarily shoved into shojo manga. The lead characters were extremely likeable. The lead female is a good strong character and unlike a lot of manga she stays strong throughout the whole manga. In many others you will see the girl starts out very strong but then finds a man who is stronger and suddenly she becomes a damsel in destress. The lead males was admirable and I liked the way he treated the lead female. Overall this manga is nothing life changing and not that memorable either but its good and its cute. It only takes a couple of hours to read so if you are looking to waste some time then I’d say go for it.

It's a super cute but rather run-the-mill mafia manga. If I didn't love mafia manga so much I might not have continued reading it. Just wish the girls gets that he loves her, hello = = and that the first few pages of each chapter repeat the same thing...we know it already!

Mediocre but cute still

This story is far too episodic and formulaic for my tastes but the art and ... heart-throbby-ness of the male lead is far too endearing. It has elements of a lot of popular titles thrown in. The heroine is supposed to be the stable strong willed kind, yet she is constantly insecure as well. Not that everyone does not suffer from bouts of insecurity every now and then, but the guy is obviously keen on you, stop distrusting that fact already!

Once you read it, you'll see elements of Hana no Arashi and many other titles in it, but it's an OK read if you dont go in with very high expectations. I just wish the first four pages wouldn't repeat every chapter!

Repetitious

If I did not love yakuza stories so much, I would not have bothered finishing this, but if you do really have a thing for yakuza stories, it is cute enough. Downside, it is one of the most terribly repetitious shoujos I've ever read... Scenes and text up to a couple pages worth are repeated in every issue.

Standard shoujo execution of a standard shoujo premise. There's nothing wrong with this manga, but there's nothing special about it either. It's exactly what it sounds like (forced marriage yakuza contrary-for-the-sake-of-being-contrary heroine shoujo blahblahblah).
Skip it unless you're super into this type of shoujo.

Yes, it's true. The author is using quite a big array of shoujo chliches. So what? It's still a good read.

The author has a talent for making her characters likeable and I think the art is quite lovely.
I'm looking forward to reading more of this author's work.

I couldn't even get through the first chapter of this story. All the cliches have been used a hundred times before by other shoujo mangas; in fact, I can't even find something that isn't a cliche. At most it should be a oneshot, I don't even know how the author managed to scrounge up enough material to continue the story for more than one chapter. I'm not about to find out.
I'm pretty much bashing this story, but I can say at least it's got decent art. If that's all you're looking for, then by all means read this.
