I got to chapter 7 before I had to give up. The paneling is really difficult to read, there's loads of unnecessary text cluttering panels yet somehow making every scene feel rushed, characters being introduced left and right before I can even memorize one of their names, and when characters of similar hair color have a scene together I keep getting them confused with each other because the art is so unskilled. I really do adore main female characters who are independant and even bitchy towards their love interest, which is why I wanted to read this despite the other reviews, but the self-centeredness of the heroine is absurdly cartoonishly uncaring. She acts like a preteen having several day long temper tantrum when I'm supposed to believe she's an adult woman?
The art is good. I just don't think this artist has talent making comics. The weird pedophilic couple is also just.. absurd. I don't know how to handle this comic.

Contrary to what others think, I like the female lead. She ain't a damsel in distress and I love that! I've read a bit of the prequel and I hated it. The female lead in that one had no common sense and cried way too much. She was like a lovesick damsel in distress. The male lead was also over bearing in the prequel, I couldn't get myself to like either of them.

The male lead in this Sequel, although he was annoying at first, his character grew on me. The only disgusting thing I think the manhua author glossed over was:

the male lead being raped by his brother. Like WTF?! That a**h*le got away with rape?!

I love the story.. But.. I really dislike the female lead.. She is just ill tempered, rude and never calm..
The male lead however is just too soft on her.

i've read so many commets about how feminine louise looks but i say it feits his querky and optimistic character...... the story was awesome although sometimes i kept wandering why le ting was always so angry and why she hated men but apart from that i really did enjoy it....

Mixed feelings about female lead

I'm a sucker for tall, cool and tough female leads - especially tsundere chracters. However... Lee Le Ting is downright rude, unreasonable and self-centered. Beniiro Hero's (Crimson Hero) Sumiyoshi Nobara is a lot more lovable in many aspects.

I really love Steel Rose so far! I'm enjoying myself reading it. I've laughed out loud nearly every chapter, and when I try to explain words, I can't find any to describe Loulou and his antics! And Le Ting is such an old grandpa, it's hilarious. So stern! I can't wait to see where this goes.

Irritating heroine

I liked Leting in Ingenuo, maybe because she did not appear that much. In this series, she happens to be the main character, so she does appear a lot, and I am also fed up with her lack of social skill and reasoning even though I am only at vol 3. She is very unreasonable, illl tempered, and always abuses her physical strength. I know that no characterization is perfect, and Lulu is there to change her, but come on, this is a shoujo manga, if I (the reader) cannot feel the sympathy toward the main female lead then...In fact, the reason I read this manga is to find out more about the couple in Ingenuo as well as all the bromances evolving around Louis lol
That aside, I have no problem with the drawing. The drawing style might slightly change, but I'd rather take that as an improvement. I would wish for more drawing details though, because sometimes Ryan just photoshopped in pictures instead.
9/10 for drawing style
9/10 for the characterizations in general
2/10 for Leting characterization
100/10 for all the bromances lol

I like it so far...as far as the story goes.
But Ryan-sensei, is he losing his touch? I mean...I love his 1998 work, Ingènuo. I REALLY LOVED IT. I had even given it a 10 in terms of story and art.
But, I feel like the art has somehow dwindled. Lulu looked so much better when he was in Ingènuo. ; A; Same goes with Le Ting.
I was really into reading this coz the first time Lulu fell in love with Le Ting, I was already behind him, cheering him on. x'D

So the art really bothers me. /cries. Can I hope it becomes better later on? :'<

EDIT: So I've seen the raws...and the art goes back little by little by the end of volume 5. The art that I came to love from Ingènuo. Thank goodness. Coz...the way Lulu looked really bothered me. ; A; So thank goodness he started looking male again...and even Le Ting started looking more feminine as the chapters went on :'] (however, Lulu will remind you so much of Yung Jo with blonde hair later on x'P)
It's funny how I can relate to Ryan-sensei about thinking up xxx-stuff involving main-characters of your stories. I feel so guilty. xD Haha.

I'm all for pretty looking bishies, but the main character looks like a woman.
It's hard for me to see him as a guy because he doesn't resemble a guy in anyway. Anyway, the story is kinds dull so I'm dropping this.

Just wanted to say that I'm looking forward to reading this manhua after I've finished Ingènuo. It's a really good story, so I have high expectations for this one too.

If you (person reading this right now?) haven't read Ingènuo yet, then that is a mistake. Be SURE to read Ingènuo if you're considering reading this project. I'll assure that you won't be disappointed.
