It's a dark story, coming up with twisted characters and a well-known personality disorder - or rather mental issue. Of course those aspects aren't handeled in a perfect way, but you can say they are dealt with seriously and - considering it's fiction - that's fine. The artwork is okay, too. Lots of black flowing into the panels, helping to build up the atmosphere, while the panel order is kept. It's a great change of pace, after reading more light stuff for a while.

As expected from Kaori Yuki-sensei a twisted and dark plot concerning incest and Narcissism, a contrast to your every day Happy-ending-goody-goody relations in a manga it gave me the creeps well i do all the time when reading kaori yuki-sensei's works cause you don't know what will happen next..

really love the art really got to love that.

This is the only story I've ever read that deals with

narcissism.

As expected of Kaori Yuki - the characters are dark and the plot is very morbid and twisted. The ending was thoroughly shocking.
As for the 'romance' tag- if you're expecting something sweet and lovey-dovey between the brother and sister, you had better walk away right now.
I don't think this story is even remotely unrealistic. The mental disease which the main character suffers from is one that actually exists- but of course, the manner in which he satiated his...desires... is not the way people who suffer from the condition usually go about it. But then again, his case was rather unique.
Kaori Yuki's psychological manga are usually pretty good. And this was no exception

The only complaint I have is that the story was rather short. I get the feeling it might have worked better as a single-volume manga rather than a one-shot.

Wow. The ending surprised me a lot. I had to read it over twice to fully understand the end part. A nice piece of Gothic horror. Can't say I particularly like it though.

Kaori Yuki showering the world with her genius, as usual. The macabre plot and bizzare ending make this an excellent short and disturbing read. You'll be left thinking about it long after.

at first,the art didn't click for me.[since this looked like one of her early works] but after i read it,i actually liked it :]
kaoru-sensei is famous for writing stories that needs a brain to understand,its not those light-hearted ones.and they have a deep meaning too.i think she did that skill well here in DIE.
and its also amazing to think that she only did this plot in a matter of two days.very good on portraying narcissm.

... there are some inconsistencies. if the sister knew to write a letter predicting what would happen after,during and before her suicide wouldn't it also follow common sense to "prevent" things from happening? of course she may have been a little warped i guess. all in all it was a good story tho.

Once again, Kaori Yuki has created another masterpiece. In this oneshot, Kaori Yuki carves another story, that deals with human nature. It's the twisted morbid side, that deep in our hearts, we know are part of human nature.
