well worth reading for the first couple

as of v3 ch15: satoru isn't even remotely a generic uke -- yeah, he may blush and be submissive to some degree, but he isn't a damsel in permanent distress who need rescuing, he isn't a spoiled queen, he isn't stupid, he's not a girlyboy nor a whining crybaby, he realises his shortcomings and works to overcome them, he takes action on his own behalf even if it takes him a while to muster up enough courage, and he does not forever protest sex, but instead likes it and shows that. that last part is what makes me enjoy him above all, because with the amount of sex that's in this manga, it would grate on my nerves something fierce if the uke made a huge fuss over having sex each time. i have gotten to the point where i no longer even want to read any manga where the uke isn't at some point enthusiastic about making out -- its ok to be shy and embarrassed, it's ok to blush, but please, admit that you like it!

the first part of this manga is lovely. i agree that tamiya is more generic, but at least he's on the considerate seme side of the category, and the combination of the two really works. i like that in general takanaga doesn't make a big deal out of the seme/uke thing though she follows the trope on the surface. these two are just adorable together; i rooted for them from the start. i also like that there's growth; both satoru and tamiya are changing, and their relationship is less prone to misunderstandings now. i wouldn't mind reading more about them if this trend continues, but if not, i'm happy with what i got.

the other couple -- well, i didn't care about them at first, but now that takanaga is fleshing out their background some more there's a chance i might come around. or not; it depends how long sagara remains in denial, because i don't like most tsundere, especially not if they behave more tsuntsun than dere. at this point i am no longer waiting with bated breath for the next installment (which is probably good for me, considering that those have slowed down to a standstill).

This it definitely got my attention and could really stand out! It's the best I've read in a long time.

Since everybody said only good things, I have to also comment on the bad side. For me, it's kinda repetitive. Not that Takanaga Hinako-sensei couldn't make the simple plot interesting even though it's not the most new one. But it got too long...and she just had the perfect solution, which was foccusing less on the main characters. But then I felt like it SHOULD be longer, because I wasn't really satisfied with only that much about Sagara and Kagami...

Satoru is one of the cuttest ukes I've seen in my life, I have to admit. They're usually so noisy and cheerful that gives me chills. So Toono-chan is the first THAT quiet uke I've seen. He's not the type to be like that because of embarassment, and once together with the seme gets all overexcited.
The only reason is his lack of success to express his emotions, which turns out greatly for us because of his thoughts and chibi faces.

I like the way he expresses his love for Tamiya because it's got more to do with actions (even the little ones) than saying it out loud. Still, I love the way he developed throughout their relationship. He even gets to say the right things at the right time.

Tamiya is not that new of a seme, but the fact the he's comprehensive to the extent to understand Toono so deeply really gets him some points. I like especially when he loses control and gets angry or in need to harass Satoru ♥

A good point also is the way things get twisted around so easily. Like Machida, for example. Each of them have their own thoughts, and I thought I had everything figured out by the end of the chapter, but it actually didn't turn as I expected. Positively.

As for the other characters, they're all great! I really didn't mind when it got deeper into Yuu, because I love the "I'm just pretending to be tough" kinda uke. But that's 'cause I totally love tsunderes.
And...I FREAKING ADORE Kagami. He's probably my favorite character!
Oh, and the main characters getting involved in their relationship couldn't be any better! It's so funny! <3

I was just about complaining over sex in each chapter (which is something I, strangely, don't enjoy), but it is so sweet it makes it kinda okay. It's not the typical cliché situations, so each of their statments has a great meaning to it.

Well, Bukiyou na Silent is REEEEEEEALLY recommended!

The main leads are just adorable. I love Satoru XD The story flows well and the progression of their relationship feels so natural. All of their setbacks and misunderstandings are realistic because Satoru's "awkward silence" condition has been set up with a solid foundation. I really empathized with Satoru--it was seriously like I felt what he felt: that inability to properly say what he wanted to say sometimes. And Tamiya's a superb for trying to really understand Satoru. Sensei has done such an amazing job with this. I just can't gush enough about this manga <3

Toono-kun is the cutest uke ever!

This is one of my favorite mangas because of how adorable and cute Toono-kun is. I love how he has a problem with saying his thoughts out-loud and showing his emotions (the way it's written), that makes him so different from other yaoi manga characters and I just want to grab him out of the story and hug him. I love the character of Tamiya, too. The way he kept trying to understand Toono-kun and how he fell in love with him. I saw someone complain about the length of the story and I have to disagree with that person. This story is special and the more I can get of Toono and Tamiya, the happier I'll be.

I've been hooked onto this manga ever since I saw it on Mochi*Mochi. Believe me, if you love silent ukes, you're gonna love Toono (and his countless little "inner" emoticons.) Who needs facial expressions after reading this...?! Takanaga Hinako's artwork is as beautiful as ever, and those chibi faces never get old. Adorable. Now let's hope for some other end-of-volume-two special. Or a sequel. Or more drama CDs.

this is the second yaoi I've ever read and one that I've gone back to countless times, yet despite that, it never failed to entertain me
Takanaga Hinako sensei has the gifts of spinning the most average situations and the most average characters with the most average plot lines into something so completely engaging and interesting
her characters are absolutely lovable, and especially in this manga... it's a struggle to decide whether Satoru is a generic uke or not. He's submissive, blushes too much and despite his silent demeanor, giddy like a school girl most of the time (inside), eventho I usually hate these qualities, I never find him annoying - I figure it got to do with the fact that his feelings for Tamiya are so settled (even more than Tamiya himself)... and speaking of which, Im not gonna lie, Tamiya is as generic as Takanaga sensei's semes can get, but he's too likable and together, they just make a great pair
it isn't as bad as 'there's no plot' but the plot is pretty limited, considering the fact that both characters are pretty much quite in love with each other even in chapter 1... but I refuse to drop a mark for this because hell I enjoyed every bit of it lol...
and the smut and the fact that they appear quite frequently don't even annoy me much because, well for one, they look great, sweet and sensual but not too smutty (which makes the manga suitable for yaoi newcomer)... the dialogues and angles aren't recycled, but also not overdone... regarding common sense, it's the yaoi world and they're hormonal high school boys so I don't blame them lol
the art, what u see in the cover is what you get, yes it's that pretty and it suits the sweet story well
my only complaint is that (many are gonna disagree with me on this) I wish the story was longer (yes the main pair), I don't know, it's just one of those that I can just carry on reading forever - I guess even I didn't expect I'd love the characters that much
so there u have it, I'd recommend it to all yaoi-lovers... it's a great past-time story

One of the freaking cutest yaoi's I've ever read. The main character is the most adorable, seeing as he has no facial expression and almost never speaks. As for his lover, well, he's the typical in love guy. They're so cute! ^^

My Favourite

This is one of my favourite yaoi mangas ever. It is so funny and the characters keep getting better and better with each volume that gets released. Hence why I'm glad SuBLime Managa has the liscense for it so I can help support the author.

What's to like about it?
1) It focuses more on the relationships of the characters, instead of them coming together. And the romances I find are much more believable.
2) It's hilarious! Especially Yu's expressions and reactions to Kagami.
3) The love scenes are really cute, and I'm glad there are no rape scenes in them. Can't say the same about other yaoi, but I am glad that when Yu didn't want it, and made it clear, Kagami stopped! But when both couples finally had an established love that was clearly there... the clothing was coming off in such a cute, well-drawn/written way. It was beautiful.
4) It's just a fun story!

I cannot wait for vol 5 to come out.
